Now this may seem crazy, but allow me to explain. Coming Patch 10 the village will go live, to work towards Jedi Padawan you need 7.35 Million Force Sensitive xp.

Now to get FS xp, you can trade in normal xp, medical xp can be converted to FS xp at a 5 to 1 ratio, which is quite good compared to normal weapons xp (10:1) so that means that a Master Doctor giving 2400 buffs could get a possible 1450 FS xp off buffing but a single person, so if you bufff people about 10 people to hit your xp cap, then run to trade in for FS xp, you could do quite well, this coupled with a combat mastery could lead us docs to quite easy FS slots, for those interested.

Please note: i wont actually be giving free buffs, just making a point.

Don't bet on it - we still don't know which badges are going to be required to get to talk to the old man. If the Hero of Tatooine is on the list that's gonna seriously throttle back the volume.

lol right, docs giving away free buffs. what game do you play? Don't get me wrong, I know some great docs and actually do get the occasional free buff (and give them myself too) but just because it will be bennificial to the doc aquiring the XP, don't expect many to even drop their prices. I think working a buff line too long jades a character into a character they weren't before becomming a doc. Listening to too many whiners will do that I guess. Jeez, I had one doc charge me 10k for a stamina buff. He said the whole set was ruined and it was just business. A doc at the previous SP had missed one stat and I failed to notice. His buffs weren't able to overbuff my current buffs. I asked for the remaining 5 stats to be given to me once thebuff packsgot down to 1 each but never heard from him again..... guess maybe that set wasn't ruined after all....

dont worry, it will still take 3 months for the first post patch jedi to appear (unless they unlocked between 9 and 10)

I think they are trying to live up to their promise that both hardcore players and casual players can achieve in this game. They also tried to balance this out by setting the ratios, e.g what Candianjoo said- medical (5:1), weapons (10:1), which sets the easiest to gain xp at a lower transfer ratio and the harder xp to gain, being medical over weapons at a lower transfer ratio. They are doing the best they can to please everyone.

I think they will if they seriously want jedi. They will get it a lot faster by giving free buffs=more customers.

This new system actually will take longer to complete than "hologrinding." The "FS" exp people are talking about is only for training pre-Jedi FS Skills that enhance various things such as crafting, combat etc. There are time restrictions on doing the quests, in addition to only 1 type of quest being available for 3 weeks at a time. (effectively gating how fast you can go through them)

We will see some new Jedi probably right away, due to those that unlocked after publish 9.. but anyone starting fresh on the FS quests is gonna take quite a while to get them done.

the guys on TC2 are saying that what they are dealing with is like 3000 times easier.

Apparently, you have to wait actual amounts of time (like an hour or a day or so) before starting another part of the quest. Frankly, it seems that this will SEVERELY throttle back the number of Jedi .

This is because they have accelerated the time for TC2 so that they can run through the process and debug them. When it goes live it will not be that fast. Its purely for testing purposes. However, in restricting the quests they will be able to fully limit the amount of Jedi, giving them much more control than before.

LOL to be honest I have never ever charged for buffs. I have always told the person i am buffing what ever they thought was a fair tip was find. Now yes you do get your folks that tip nothing but I have never complained. Most of the Credits that I have gotten as tips for buffs I have put in either my guild hall or the city that I live in. No I don't run around the galaxies with Master Doctor over my head but when asked I have never denied that I am one. For the most part my buffs have been for the citzens of the city I live in and for my guild memebrs. As for the FS, I like to open the slot and maybe do some of the skills for it but I (at this time) have no desire to become a Jedi.

Not likely. First, they are going to rotate the phases on a three week basis, making it difficult for some folks to progress; only the most dedicated players will be able to advance at an acceptable rate. Between this and the grind associated, many will forego the attempt to unlock FS. It won't be much different from hologrinding, a concept that never appealed to me (and many others) very much.

Second, I have heard that the devs are put a cap on the number of players that can unlock per phase rotation. A friend of mine worked out how long it might take to unlock, and came up with a figure of about 5 months, which sounded reasonable when I asked for an explanation.
