Thread: New Doctor Elite-Elite Profession Wanted!
I posted this on the Discussion forum but figured I better put it here too...
Remember when Luke had his hand cut off and it was replaced with a cybernetic one? Or when Anakin had his arm replaced with some kinda crazy magic arm after that old dude worked him with his sweet ass, elegant lightsaber? Or Landos guy in the Cloud City with the computer wrapped around his bald head (assuming it was hardwired to his brain)? Or, the best example by far, my main man, Lord Vader!
Anyways, my point is that a Cybernetic Surgeon would be a sweet ass Elite-Elite profession for doctors. Dont F is up and make this into Shadowpunk, I dont want there any more than anyone else. Keep it Star Wars-ish. I also dont expect you Devs to rush on this, you got other stuff to take care of right now, but someone write it down and keep it in mind for the future.

That would be very cool
Though I don't know what kind of benefits it should bring, I'm sure we can think of many.
Hmmm... cybernetic implants for perma-buffs and/or skills tapes, maybe? O the ability to create a perma-slot for BE created skill tapes? Perhaps an "implant" would be like socketed clothing, but have better skills available than what's normally available in clothing but these implants would be unable to be "unequipped" except by this profession, or maybe not at all. Maybe even at low levels if someone takes a wound that knocks them down to 1 on the HAM bars they would HAVE to get a cyber "replacement" in order to regain any of thier former stat levels, effectively only letting a member of this elite-elite profession being able to heal someone with low enough HAM levels? Maybe here could be the answer to a Mindstimmer in the game?
There should be some definite drawbacks, though, I would think. Don't want everyone running around allcyborg looking. Obviouslylots ofand/or rare resource requirements for the implants. Perhaps Permastat Mind loss for implants, or at least the boosting ones?
Just some thoughts.
