Im not even a Doc (yet)and I think you guys got the worst deal on this patch.


Why?


Death and Decay


  • NO decay for incapacitation
  • 1% decay upon Cloning (not death) if you are insured
  • 5% decay upon Cloning (not death) with no insurance

    • What does that mean to you? Well, since it is veryrare to have more than one Doctor in a group. (Heck, having one is rare) That means that while everyone else in your group is unaffected by the death and decay issue when you resusitate them, it is YOU who will be paying the price.


    You can't resusitate yourselves, can you? I see that as a very real issue for you guys. I don't claim to know how to fix it... Obviously self resusitation could lead to lots of exploits... but I do feel you need to have some protection there.

    I dont see this as a problem, my group keeps me alive, and Ill return the favor. When a doc dies in the group that group's time is up. Love your docs, protect your docs.

    Rezing self would be kind of silly and unrealistic to me. Im dead, how am I suppose to rex myself?

    On the brighter side I just experimented a bunch of enhance D packs to med use 90 and lower. Haven't tried it in a schematic and factory crates (post patch) and whether the finished product keeps the lower med use, or jumps up to 90+ when pulled from crates.

    Um no, NOW doctors will get more opportunities to ressurect people (most likely for profit) rather than the person just shrugging it off and recloning. Its decay upon CLONING, not death. Well looks like Sony just gave doctors a more important job, didnt they? Look past the box.



    - As I see it, Sony has until July 31st 2004 to pull content, balance and most importantly "fun" out of a hat and into the game for me. I guess I can list "buying a non-refundable year's subscription" down as one of the dumbest decisions made in my life. Congradulations SoE, you took 200 bucks from me. -

    Hassle - No it isn't that big a deal, because decent groups have already learned to protect thier Doc at all costs already. Who wants to wait around while the Doc runs from the cloning center to whereever in the wilderness you are, and he could die on the way! And who wants to do serious hunting without rezzs? This gives Docs even more incentive to make sure you are with a good group. Before a bad group was frustrating and slow, now it can be expensive too.


    Errorsoft - A lot of Docs already charge for Rezz or other services. I mean after the xp grind days, where Docs are beggingto go out, there is no reason for a Doc to let himself go unappreciated. Compensation can come in many forms though, and prices vary wildly depending on people and situation. Sometimes mission cash is enough, or being escorted to places or quests they couldnt do on thier own. But if someone wants to talk me into going to the Tusken fort, again, they'd have to offer some decent compensation, because it is really a waste of time and resources otherwise.

    Well fortunately if you are hard-core healer (i.e. MDOC/MCM) then you really don't carry anything that get decayed except maybe your robe which I paid not very much. once it completely decay away I might just go "naturale" since we don't need no armor or anything.

    Hey, now there's a thing. Ambulance services. Docs that come rez anywhere (within reason).


    What would a doctor want for that type of service?


    I would start at least 10,000 credits depending on planet.

    That is part of being a Doc. I played a Cleric to level 54 in EQ, I am very used to not being able to revive myself.
