I know this has been asked before, but I keep getting conflicting answers...

Do you get Crafting XP for using a factory?

How much?

When do you get it, gradually, when you stop the factory?

Do you have to be near it to get the XP?

Ive heard you have to be close to the factory, like 10m. Ive heard you get 10% XP, but it changes depending on distance?

Crafting XP is apparently bugged, and has been for the past few publishes (it is listed as one of our Bug Issues.) We are supposed get 10% from factories no matter how close or far you are from it or even if you are online, however it does not seem to be working or it is working only very intermittently.

How would I know if it was working? Does it get calculated at start or per item or when we stop...thinking about it it couldnt be at start so it would have to be per item or at stop/retrieval.

It is supposed to credit you XP as the factory works.

I also learned last night that factories are supposed to credit you XP, no matter your distance. You don't even have to be logged on!

I know for a fact that Structure Factories work this way now. I'm running a test today to see if it works with Food/Chemical Factories. I kicked off a run this morning and logged off for work.

This has been bugged for months. When they hotfixed the 10% change in (back in August?) it did work for a while. You got 10% whether you were off planet, logged off, right next to the factory, whatever. That lasted a few weeks then went away and we haven't been getting exp since.
