Thread: Any way to turn off healing a mobs target?

If you are the target og the mob will you not heal yourself?
Yes, I agree this is annying. I died to Necrosis because I forget to use my macro healing (where I use heal self)
The only known work around is to make macros - this is pretty straightforward for healing without an enhancer but more difficult for healing with an enhancer.
Example of a Self-heal macro:
/bactashot self;
or
/bactashot yourname;
Hot key the macro or drag it into your toolbar.
Now doing this with enhancers gets much more complicated. You need to have the enhancer in a toolbar slot (lets say its the F12 key, which is toolbarSlot 11). Your macro then looks like -
/target self;
/ui action toolbarSlot11;
Again, drag the macro into the toolbar or hotkey it.
Obviously a problem with all of these is the amount of toolbar space and/or combination of keys they take to activate. I think most of us would prefer that enhancers pull from the inventory (hmm maybe Ill start a poll on that).

Yes, but assists should only work if you're targeting a player, not an NPC. It's caused me a few incaps, because in large battles I don't really have time to determine wether or not the npc I have targeted is picking on me or someone else.
Great thank you very much ill give this a try tonight

Not sure you understand what Assist means...
Basically if your targetting a Mob, and that Mob is attacking your friend, it is going to automatically heal your friend, because he is "in danger" more then you are. Now I understand what your saying, because the Agro is still screwed up w/ multiple Targets, but honestly, the Assisted Targeting is really a blessing. Yes it takes time to get use to it, but it's really a very powerful tool.
That's how it works in every other MMORPG I've played that has implemented assist. That part works. However, you should either be unable to heal what the mob has targeted through assists, or have an option to turn it off.
Yes, I haven't tried the macro route because my toolbar is already full and I've already remapped my mouse buttons to other things I need, but CTL-1 will save your life all the time. In some other games you can make yourself clickable, which helps healers a lot, but I don't know of a way to do that in this game.
Also, I find it much easier to target other players by their group icon box, instead of clicking them directly... not sure if most others do it this way too. I just don't like the way the direction arrows are working right now... I often end up moving in the wrong direction to get in healing range.
You can also target the MOB to heal a player or target a player you need to heal and attack the MOB, and that flexibility is nice. The only bad part right now is the range calculations don't seem to work quite right when you do that. You can be right next to a MOB and get out of range errors on melee attacks if you are targeting through another player who has moved away.
