I just finished Master Doctor again on one of my characters today, so I figured I'd go out and test how good the heals actually are.
I found a lvl 80 creature and hit it once and then let it keep attacking me until i was at low health then healed a few times with each move and then afterwards looked at the combat log to see how much each one had healed for.
Advanced Bacta Shot
1534 points of damage healed
1423 points of damage healed
Advanced Bacta Jab
771 points of damage healed
760 points of damage healed
I still have medic 4240 because I found it easier to use a ranged heal to get xp while in a group, so I tested Bacta Toss as well.
(NOTE Not Advanced or even Improved Bacta Toss, just the xx2x medic one.)
Bacta Toss
1136 points of damage healed
1149 points of damage healed
Yes I know that my Healing Efficiency effects Bacta Toss also, but seriously whyshouldI be healing much more damage with a x2xx Medic skill than with a skill from the Master Doctor box?

BactaJab has a shorter recycle time and half the mind cost (5%) of Bacta Shot. It's meant to be a quick "in-betweener" that gives a Doctor a healing advantage over a CM.

Thank you for the reply. I just tested it out and I can use Jab every 5-6 seconds and Toss every 7-8.
Bacta Toss is still healing more though in terms of damage healed per second, and since I'd beusing Bacta Shot as my main heal the slightly faster timer on Jab wouldnt really makemuch difference when alternating between Shot/Jab or Shot/Toss would it?
It is more mind efficient true, but it just seems wrong to me that it should heal for so much less.

Shot -> Toss or Shot ->Jab will both have the same delay but generally Shot-> Toss will be more potent. However then you have the recharge timer on those two, so you can go Shot->Toss->Jab and by the time you finish that, Shot will have fully recycled.

Don't forget that Bacta Toss has the marked disadvantage of rooting yourself in place for a second or two. I hate that.

There is also another factor that might be of importance here.
The dev's intended Bacta Jab to be used with a bio-engineered pack, and using such a pack (a good one) brings it up much closer to the heal of Bacta Shot.
Therefore if you're taking full advantage of the system, that is to say, using the pack that goes with it, you get a heal nearly as powerful as Bacta Shot for half the mind cost, and with a shorter cooldown.
That's the angle I think they were going for with it, anyway.

I crafted myself some bacta jab enhancers on my BE, 1172 effectiveness, they heal a little over 1k. Problem is, you have to put the enhancer on your toolbar, and target yourself to use them. For some reason the command doesn't recognize that you have the enhancer in your inventory. But hey , at least it works.

Jabdoes have it's use, I heal for about 1200 with enhancer, I think. I try to adapt my heals to the situation. Toss have that nasty root side-effect, which I don't like. I also try to keep toss unused as long as possible since there might be a situation where I must heal a group member over longer distance.
Note on your note, the latest tests show that level of heal are of minor consequence to your healing power. The amount of healing efficiency you have is more important but over 100 and the increase won't be notice:able.

Its very useful to me to be able to alternate between shot/jab/toss when youre healing a group of people. Jab for the ones not that hurt, shot for the ones badly hurt, and toss for the ones far away. cant go wrong.

Well, as a Mdoc/CM 0004 (Note I did NOT get the ranged healing line in CM) I heal for 1500 with bactashot, and 1800 with bactatoss (with enhancer). I actually heal more with bactatoss than a MCM (With adv toss as opposed to basic). I honestly rarely need to use my bactajab enhancers. I'm sure you could get the exact same results as I do with Mdoc/Medic 4240 with proper enhancers. And basic bactaspray is AWESOME in groups, heals for 1500 with enhancers.
