Just depends on how you see yourself. I will tell you now that if you pick up doc , dont have an ego because you will be nothing more than a super support character. If you are looking to be the "ub3r l337 kill3r" just go jedi.

OK enough of that ,

Doc is the shizznit, I absolutly love it. I happen to be a DOC-TKM and its the most fun Ive had. I focus more on healing , buffing and rezzing than on combat. Now I can stand toe to toe with 2 CL-80 jedi and last a good 10-15 minutes If needed with COB, heals, Innate , and foods. Problems are the dmg output, the TKM shots bounce right off defenders and anyone with healer can out heal, in one heal , about 10-15 tkm shots. So your not going to kick someones butt , although Im like a wasp, I wont kill you but I can sting like hell. More of a nusance to jedi and ranged folks.

Dont know about swordsman, although Ive heard if at the right distance you can pound someones face in.

I'm doing Doc (just short of Master)/MSwords and I'm really enjoying it, though I'm kinda loathe to admit it (I have a feeling Egri/MyT_Chicken is just waiting for people to say it and then he'll pounce and say "I told you so."). If you plan to solo more than anything else I'd stick with 0-1-0-0 in TK for the Improved Center of Being for the greatly improved defenses. If you are going to be in a group more and have someone else to tank then MDoc/MSwords/Medic 4-4-4-0 is great (what I'm going with). In a group the heals (especially the ranged ones) are of great use. And so long as I'm fairly careful and have decent armor, I can still solo when I don't want to be bothered to group. If I was just going to be a support player in a group, TKM/MDoc would be the way to go, I'm sure. But I like the versatility that I can manage with Swordsman.

I didn't test out TKM with MSwords and 4-0-0-0 Doc, but that sounds like fun too. Cheaper given the cost of armor, for certain.

In any event, good luck.

hmm really good info so far guys... I like being a support char and like the idea of keeping peeps alive.. and to be able to revive i think would be fun... but I want to maintain my ability to solo well like I do now with Msword/MTKA/4000 doc.. (a great and powerful template great offense and defense) The idea of being able to buff myself is such an appealing idea tho. Not sure how much more of an edge they will give me tho.. I'm not look for The l33t ub3r template..just a strong ,viable fun one.. I don't want to just be a tank tho.. I want to dish it out since I solo quite a bit and don't want to lose my independance.

So right now I'm leaning towards Msword/Mdoc/0400 Tk. Although Fencing might be fun too.. Any fencers/docs out there with any input on their templates ?

Tkm/doc is a good support/tank template, good heals and good defense. The only problem is that you can get a rez arm and go doc 4004 and not really miss much in doc. The cures are nice but only if you're fighting a cm or amob that poisons. If you go tkm/md/whatever you'll also notice that your damage is pretty low, especially compared to a tkm/mswords/doc 4000 template. My advice to you would be to try tkm/swords 4044/doc 4004 and see how you like it. Great damage, great defense, good heals, and good buffs. If you still think you want more doc then go ahead and try it out.

Was in the DWB last night with 6 jedi-1 crafter-myself masterTK/DOC. Its worth every second I spent grinding and then some, I love this template. When the jedi need a break I can hit aggro for the win and help them out. Although in TS they kept saying to me stay back let us tank, there were several times when I had multiple aggros and didnt lose a step. Shhhh , jedi sometimes have a lil ego problem so dont tell them .....

And just for the record I only got killed after some idiot came force running in half way down with freakin WW3 aggored on him while we were in the process of dealing with our own mess. This jerk pulled about 6 wraiths , black suns and a battle droid right to us and got everyone killed. Me and one other jedi were left standing after about 6 minutes of this disaster , and they never knew I was holding the aggro of about 4 of them ssshhhhh.

Sounds like the perfect balance for pvp, buffs/heals/damage but is it level80?

If so I'm going to have to grind a tad more since I'm TKM/Doc/Swords0004 right now.

I used to be MDoc/TKM, and believe me, nothing will kill you. Not even 50 of anything, lol. You can tank anything in the game that comes near you, and usually alot fo them too, REALLY fun. The only reason I'm not anymore is that i found it got a bit dull always having to be grouped to kill anything quickly, just cause thr tk dmg output is so low. and everyone knows that they should have an area KD attack or an area taunt to be of any efficient use, but that aint the point.

Ive changed to MDoc/MRifle now, and I'm loving it. I can solo alot of high lvl mobs, and make for great support in a group, dealing out a fair bit of dmg, whilst still healing/buffing. Its really good to sit in the back jsut sniping the hell out of things then running in for heals when needed.

Yes, the template you listed is a CL80 (check sig) not many pplknow about the template - itsTRUE strengths combined with Katarn Knuckler willout perform a TKM/MS/Doc4000

Swordsman xxx4 gives you improved critical strike, which is the best offensive attack from Swordsman. I'm doubting between two templates:

Mdoc/TKM/Swords xxx4
TKM/MSwords/Doc 4xxx

So same as you do actually. Does anyone know the healing diffirence between doc 4xxx and master doc? Cause if it is not really that high I won't bother to get master doc just for the rez.

looked at a couple of these too. a nice pure suport was

m/medic

m/doc

tkm

im currently

m/sword

tkm

4000 doc

went with sword as i found armour break from a jedi ripped thru my innate armour as i couldnt slice anything to absorb it like battle armour etc can.

however 1 spec i was tempted to give a shot at is

m/doc

tkm

m/brawler

is brawler going to offer a noticable difference in dmg/defense etc? if not ill probably go 0004 sword like you suggest.

also 1 reallydumb question can Doctors wear armour of some sort? just occured to me i never actualy looked for it in their skill tree. at work atm so i can log on and check for myself
