I have been collecting doc ressources in about 10 months now.. and have about 5million premium doc ressources for making buffs. But what will happen to buffpackes made pre CU when the buff nerf come??

I really cant decide wether nor not to make the packs now or after the buff nerf.

any comments?

nothing definate has been announced, if you received information about the CU in its alpha, whoever told you is in violation of the non-disclosure agreement and they should be reported immediately
if it were me in your position, i'd make them now and make as much money as i can... after all, the CU will be when? 6+ months from now?

That's nothing but rumor. Nothing has been announced, so anytime you hear something like this, ignore it.

Patches and better spawns of doc resources have always always changed the value of doc buffs and resources. This is what makes the best buffs and materials valuable.

There are two ways to speculate. You can put all your eggs in one basket (make everything into buffs now or keep all your good resources and don't make any) or you can hedge..... Make some great buffs and buff while you can, sell off some resources, make a bunch of extras to keepand hold back a bunch of great resources. Of course some of this may become worthless, but the odds are if you cover all the possibilities what you have now will probably be worth about what it is after the patch.

Even if buffs are only +1000 in the future or just double the base stats they will still be important. And if they do lower buffs to these levelsI wouldn'texpect the buffs you make now to continuebuff for +2500 after the patch.

I would agree with coronula. When they nerfed weapons back in the days for multiple slicing those weapons still stayed in the game, you just couldn't make those any more. So I am guessing if the buffs are made before the patch they will still buff +2500.

Even if buffs do go down to +1,000 range (or less) they may be just as good as todays +2,500 buffs. You need to remember that there will be HAM pool / specials pool changes along with this.

the way i see it is this, if the buffs are reduced, they will still give you an advantage in combat, anything that gives you an advantage is well sought after in this game so as long as buffs are still useful i will continue to mass produce

My gut feel is that *IF* buffs get nerfed, the power/duration stats on existing and newbuffpacks will not change, however the formula used to calculate the final buff will change, perhaps with a <1 duration multiplier based on something. *IF* buffs get nerfed, leaving buffpacks in-game at existing strengths while nerfing new buffpacks will dangerously destabilize the game economy and combat mechanics.

*IF* buffs get nerfed.

Facts:

  1. CURB is not in alpha yet (ThunderHeart said so about a week ago)
  2. Unless you are one of the 5 people choosen by your professions coorespondant you have no concrete answers on what is happening with buffs/combat/etc
  3. If you are one of the sandbox testers you are under an NDA and cannot discuss what you know.
  4. The "Buff NERF" is nothing more than an assumption that a whole lot of people jumped to even though they have absolutley no proof or Dev statements to back it up.

Tell all the Chicken-Little's you know that the sky is not truly falling. As far as what the CURB is/isn't going to do to buffs.... you've got plenty of time before any of it happens and just like the rest of the community there will be plenty of notice. Think of it like this....

CURB goes into Alpha testing : Now the sandbox testers and Dev's kick all sorts of stuff around until it's pretty enough for Beta. In most Alpha testing everything and anything is up for change/tweaking.

CURB goes into Beta testing : At this point most big code changes are close to being set in stone. Issues and bug's will be found and fixed, high priority changes go in at this point. Continued testing for sometime.

CURB finally gets ready to go live : There will be community posts, discussions with/by Dev's, all sorts of stuff considered before finally releasing into the real world.

CURB goes live : Forum Community outrage will be about the same as every single patch that has ever gone in on this game. There will be cries, and screams. "I got NERF'ed, they should get NERF'ed, Whaaa.... whaaa..." About a month later some more bugs will be fixed, more forum crying, then everyone just finally gets used to it. By that time they will be telling everyone about the up and coming Galactic Civil War Revamp....

Seriously, relax people. There's 5 Doctors who are representing you in the CURB, I doubt they're going to sit quietly by IF anything gets NERF'ed without good reason.
