Howdy everyone.
I have been having droid problems for a while now, and do not know how to fix it. Have any of the rest of you experiences something similar?
I have a surgical droid with a crafting station, and medical module. I used to be able to bring the droid out in town, the wild, pretty much anywhere, and craft or use woundpacks without a problem.
Then recently, I do not remember precisely when, I noticed I could not use the droid in a cantina (prolly couldnt ever do that... but I noticed it recently) so I went outside and it worked just fine.... Tried to bring it in, and it didnt work.
OK, not a problem, just dont try to use the droid in a cantina.
A little while later, I noticed that I couldnt use my droid to apply woundpacks in town, or the field... This was odd... but as I spend most of my time in the cities, not a major concern.... I could still craft with it without a problem.
Now it is starting to bother me (Im more mobile now, and not always near a med center) as I want to apply more buffs to myself when I am out and about... but I cannot.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening to me? I know the information is REALLY vague, so even if I /bug it, it wont help the DEVs much. Any ideas on how to fix this problem... or do I just need to suck it up and buy a new droid?

You are correct that you can not use a medical droid in NPC cantinas to heal wounds or buff. You can use them in Player cantinas, unless this has changed recently.
Have you recharged your droid? I am noticing that the battery stats listed in the datapadare not correct. It will state I have 75% power when in reality the droid needs to be recharged. I am also not seeing the low power msg in spatial anymore, just over the droid's head.

I did some checking and according to what I am reading this is a bug so if it hasn't been removed it probably will be.

Went home, sure enough he was down to 75%, so I recharged him, and he worked fine.
I dont know why losing 25% charge causes him to stop working... I guess it is one of those coded things...
but it basically means that droids have to be recharged constantly. fun fun fun.

I'm a Master DE and a Doctor as well.
I'd suggest trying to recharge the droid again. Now try to pull out your droid in a starport area, or out in the wild. You *should* be able to buff yourself without getting the message that says something like "you must be in a medical center or near a surgical droid to do that."
If you continue to see this message, and your droid is listed as having 100% battery power, and you're somewhere that's outside of any structure/away from a medical center, then I'm stumped. I have heard of medical modules going on the blink and no longer working, for some reason. So, I would say /bug it if you continue to have problems, and state in the ticket that you have recharged the droid and it still does not work.
NPC cantinas (and buildings in general) will NOT allow you to buff/heal wounds inside of them. The general rule is - if you can't call your droid, you can't buff there.
Player cantinas are considered player structures (you can declare residency there), so they do not fall under the NPC cantina rules for buffing. You can buff/heal wounds in them, and I haven't heard anything about that changing.
You may want to ask a Master Droid Engineer to build you a MSE droid with a level 6 medical module in it, just to test things out. Try to buff/heal wounds with your surgical droid. Now, store it and call the new MSE droid. If the MSE droid works, your surgical droid is bugged. If neither works, then you're either in a place where you can't buff, or once I'm stumped as to what your problem is and /bug it/submit a CSR ticket.
Good luck!

Haha, well good.
Glad to hear everything's fine ![]()
Sometimes you have to keep those droids in line, or they walk all over you...
Just keep droid batteries handy and when it hits 75%, be aware you may have to recharge.

I think when it hits 75% you pretty much _have_ to recharge it.
Kind of annoying, there is 75% power there, but the droid cannot function as intended (though the crafting station still works)...
Kind of annoying to only get 25% use out of a droid battery (assuming 1 battery can recharge to full)...

Technically, the power goes below 75%, so you actually will get the full 100% charge outta your battery, however you just don't know when you hit 0%
. I personally don't recharge my droid unless I'm feeling a bit uncertain on my power.
