Hey all~ I recently have become master doctor and i was wanting some suggestions about what 2nd profession to take up along with doctor. Currently i have Carbines IV, All Hunting and Exploration Skills under Scout, and some surveying. I wanted a profession to be good with hunting because i am going to be making my own buffs here soon and wanted to have a good solid secondary profession to go along with doc. I can take up Teras Kasi, but i would have to drop almost all scout skills and marksman. Is this a good idea, or what do you all think would be best? thanks

I'd recommend geting an elite combat profession to go with doc so you'll be a strong template when looting and hunting etc. So doc/swords doc/rifles doc/tkm doc/fencer doc/pikes seem to be the most popular and strong both pvp and pve (some better pvp than others but all will make you a tough sob).

Now that leaves enough for novice scout and hunting1-this may not sound like much but with harvesting droids or guildmates to help out you'll still get meat fast.

Once you have your herb/avian etc, surrender scout and get novice artisan to do some surveying, although with resources listed at http://www.iootnega.com/medresources/default.asp you won't have to search too hard to find the best spawns.

If you need a vendor then I'd consider getting an alt account or do a deal with a merchant. Doc/combat profs are the most fun so personally I'd never give it up for a few more pts to move to artisan.

I'm a Master doc/Master Pike's and I love this temp,It's nice in PvE, And It really is nicein PvPafter you have some awesome NS lance's with DOT's and then my favorite is my 800dmg LVA But all around I think Pike's/Doc is the way to go myself

Any elite combat profession can go well with Doctor. If you really like carbines then there is no reason you can't use that with doc. However some professions are more efficient then others. Most ranged fighters choose rifles and do Master Rifleman/Master Doc. My own template is Master Doc/Master Swordsman. This leaves me with 18 skill points left over. I used 3 skill points in FS Melee Speed and keep my last 15 skill points open for either Novice Artisan or Novice Scout. This allowsme tosurvey forresources or harvest meat depending on what my needs are. I also use foods to supplement my skills such as surveying food, harvesting food, or terrain negotiation food.

Basically your second profession should be a combat profession that you enjoy and use your left over skill points to get either scout or artisan so you can gather your own resources. Another thing you can think about is if you want to hunt high level NPC's like Night Sister Elders you can do it with the Master Doc/Master Swordman template.

I'm Master Rifleman/Master Docand have no problems when out inthe wilderness. It's actually one of the strongest templates in the game. If you are thinking about an elite ranged profession,I would strongly suggest you consider Rifleman, though there is nothing wrong with Carbineer.

Sounds to me like you've already got a good template to compliment Master Doc crafting, without putting all of your eggs in one basket by mastering another prof. After all, most of what you need to hunt to get the animal resources you need certainly don't require that you be a master combat prof to kill efficiently-- Rancors and Kimogilas don't drop avian or herbivore, but perleks and pikets and banthasdo. Picking some elite combat skills to go with your template is purely a matter of choice.

Do you want ranged? melee? defence skills or speed skills or damage skills? Different types of weapons and damage? Do you get a thrill out of /concealshot and killing everything without ever getting aggro'd, or do you prefer to run up and just start wailing on something with your VK for insane amounts of damage once you dizzy/KD? Pick something you think you'd like, look at the skills available for the amount of SP you want to spend, and then check out the profession forums for that prof and read the FAQ's and Top 5 List.

Everyone here is going to say their combat prof is best .. and they'd be right, it's the best *for them*. Me, I'm TKM/Master Doc and love it. Find your own groove.

I was a doc/pitoleer but really didn't care for that templaate. Have been Doc/TKM for about 9 months and love it. I would suggest hooking up with an artisan to get resource WPs for.. and also a ranger or at least scout friend... helps a ton. Really eassy to do if you are in a guild... if you are looking for one to join we are currently looking for applicants.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen." - JULIO TORRES
