A buddy of mine wants to be a master doctor and combat medic, are there enough points for that?

Yes

For both and not much else =/ I think you get enough to do a Novice and one basic tree from another area...like Pistol or Rifle spec. But life as a Master CM/Master Doc without Explore I and Surveying would...suck.

Enough points to Master all 3, Novice Artisan and 1st Tier Pistol if I remember my end game template (sitting here at work so can't check it).

Sorry I'm a noob What do you need the scout stuff for?

to get organics from animals you kill...

honestly i think its a bit useless if u have survey since sampling provides far more useless organics...but there are some meats that are needed for certain packs and scout could help with those

Explore I gives you terrain negotiation +20, which means you run uphill instead of walk uphill. If you're a combat medic with ranged heals it's probably not a big deal. If you're a doctor, and trying heal your party seperated by a ravine, well... My first foray with a group this happened. After that fiasco, I just told them stay on the same side of the ravine or give my regards to Mr. CloneMachine.

hahaha u know what the funny thing is...Cms get ranged heals and still get +10 terrain negotiation at master CM lol...

im like ok...as if my 60m range on stims is gonna be insufficient?

You can master both which is what i am doing. You can master both and have enough to get on of the ranged weapon specializations and have 4 points left.
