Thread: Is Wound Speed worth it?
Here is the (nearly) complete template:
Artisan -up to Surveying III.
Marksman - Pistol Specialist, (1/4 branches).
Medic - Master, (all branches).
Pistoleer - Master, (all branches).
Combat Medic - Ranged Healing and Speed Mastery, (2/4 branches).
Doctor - Master Wound Treatment branch, (1/4 branches).
With this template, I can wreak havoc with my "m4d skiLlz" as a "r337" pistoleer, heal you even if you're in a galaxy far, far away, revive you, in the event that you die in that galaxy (far, far away), and get the stuff I need to be self-sufficient.
So here's the trade-off: Surveying III, or Wound Speed Treatment branch on the Doctor skill tree?
Is Wound Speed worth it?
Not possible
1. Using revive packs is going to require a LOT of medicine use, so you'll have to get Doctor's Medicine Knowledge line at least some of the way up
2.WIthout Terrain Negotiation you are going to run slow as hell up hills.. if you can manage this then go for it but believe me, without it you run SLOW up hills.
3. Its going to be tough/not worth itas a combat medic unless you use very good ranged stim b's, because that's the highest you'll be able to use without more combat medicine use
Unfortunately this is the way it goes with doctor and combat medic templates... to use the good stuff, you have to spend more skill points in "medicine use" lines and not just concentrate on the actual skill lines
Also with this template you must realize you will have to buy all of your stuff. This may be a big monkey on your back unless you have good connections to skilled crafters
Hope I don't sound to hopeless, but if you want to go the medical route you'll have to concentrate less skills in pistol and more in doc/cm... it's probably not logical to get master pistoleer anyway if you aren't a pure fighter, just getting half the skills in pistoleer definately makes you astrong pistola man
With that template, you can live without wound speed since it only really serves to reduce downtime (and help you buff your party faster) and is not battle-critical. You won't get cure poison or disease, but you rarely see those states anyways.

1. Wrong..med use on revives is novice doctor med use (52-56 base med use easily experimented down). so yes all you need is wound treatment 4 (docs got the shaft on this one i have to admit)
2. terrain negotation +10 at master CM is a joke...so u run up the hill a little faster...with master range i can heal at almost 50ms..Master Cms with D ranged can nail people at 60m...
3. Ranged stims shoot up in CM med use quickly...these u will be stuck at ranged A or experimented Bs...My advice would be to drop the CM speed and pick up CM support i.e. the med use line instead...the increased ranged stim speed is nice..but u can use Ranged as a stop gap until you close and use stim D or E if u feel the speed is a huge issue...personally with ranged D or E(if they ever fix it) ull drop full heals almost everytime and speed will be less of an issue...
Making ur med is impossible but buying ur med shouldnt be to hard...ull just have to remember the time u would have spent crafting meds will no have to be dedicated to making money probably via missions. although charging grps service fees for going out the heal them has slowly become a viable market especially on advanced planets. People will pay incredible sums of money for u to heal them on those planets
but the good thing is with teh savedskill point u should be able to pump pistoleer high enuff that u get some high paying destroy missions that u can easily solo...
doh yeah u forgot ranged support in there..
also drop both survey and wound speed...that will give u a ton of points...
u dont need survey if u arent crafting...
