Zarlor -

Great list, however: since you are only allowed to submit the Top 5 issues at a time, shouldn't you be submitting important, fixable bugs and easy-to-implement meaningful enhancementsfirst?

I'm a progammer/sys admin, and I can tell you 14 years of experience thatthings like number 25 or number 28(to give two somewhat different examples),are far, far more likely to get immediate, hands-on developer attention that something like number 1, which is a general, almost un-addressable in the short term, systemic problem.

Just my opinion.

Hmmm.... should I be asking for specific requests? Especially sinceI somehow doubt that one will ever really make it into the Top 5 (although you never know. It would be an incredible day when something like that is all we really have to worry about!)

So, one nurse outfit.... Next!

Now, where DID that Tailor Correspondent, go....

Grumb, i completely and fully agree with you, being a systems professional myself. However, that is not what I was tasked to do. The Devs have specifically asked that I run through the forums and the Doctor community in general and cull together the Top 5 Hot Topics, if you will, out there in the community.

That is why I expect my Pet Peeve topic for the week will be that i would like to submit the complete listing to them, at least once. At least that whay they will have full listing showing those bugs that are at least important issues to Docs, but that are not necessarily getting the most attention. (I mean how many times can you talk about, "yeah, that darned Battle Fatigue screwed up my heals again because I didn't get the notification message". "Yeah, me too." End of conversation.) At least if they had the full list they could look thorugh stuff and say to themselves, "That's a bug? We should fix that!" or "Yeah, that would be easy enough to implement".

As it stands I have to work from the mandate I was given and that means that Hot Topics get to be in the Top 5. If you wan to make sure we get something easy to do, like get a Crafting Station into the Med Center then start a thread for it. If enough people post about the issue it will move up the list.

Right now I would say that the top 15 or so issues all get enough attention thatI don't expect them to get knocked too far down the list in the near future, although they may move around where on the list they are. Sorry, but that's just the bestI can do. Doing anything else would be doing a disservice to what i have been asked to do. I guess we'll just have to see if the Correspondent program works acceptably in this manner first.

Understood.

Well, try to hit them with the whole list I guess, and hope that someone there works like I often do: sift through your to-do list to find the shortest do-ables and get them done ;-)

I just thought of a GREAT idea in responce to this...

>There is also no notification of a buffs expiration, as folks cannot see that stream of lost numbers while in >First Person mode and may not notice that they have lost their enhancement. Possibly some other >graphical notification of what buffs you currently have and possibly a blinking notification that those buffs are >about to expire. Allowing the buffing medic or groupmates to see who has what buffs would also be very >advantageous.

When status changes happen to a player (dizzy, bezerk, posion etc.) happen to a player they get an icon to their HAM bars. How is a buff any different, other then the fact that instead of a status change they get a HAM change. If we are conserned about a time effect on a certain buff there could be something like a "Clock" Icon specific to the type of buff used. Imagine this, a circle with an icon indicating a health buff. The circle is full when the buff is performed and the inside color is slowly removed in a pie shaped fashon until the buff is gone. If anything the Icon could start blinking 10-15 seconds until the buff expires, and then when it dissapears, so does the buff.

Just an idea I came up with on the fly. Seems that it could be VERY usefull tho!

zarlor about the factories...

well if its a bug they cant fix right way, can we get them to put a temp solution in like make the ingredient hopper hold 1000 items not 100?

honestly i wouldnt mind having to pull components out expect i have to do it so damage often...id just love to fill my factory and run off for a day and not have to worry about it...since they wont let us do it with crates at least make it so we can hand load more items...as it is now u can make a max of 32 B or Cs stim, 24 Ds, 19 Es or revives...

no i wouldnt mind spending 30 mins loading a facotyr manually if I didnt have to do it every hour...how hard would it be to increase the input hopper size...id even take 500 items anythng would be an improvement over 100....

Everyone has to remember... All the bugs have been bugged (you did bug report them before you brought them to Zalor's attention right?)

The correespondant system is not a bug report tool, they should already know about the bugs if people reported them, and they are on bug lists and to-fix lists.

Correspondant program is to show the devs what is bothering the players of a profession at any one time. Basically is is a feature feedback, with possibly a bug priority bumping secondary function.

it is the top 5 "we don't think this is fun" kinda thing.. they understand that the way we see the game is different then the way they see the game.

The idea is to spread their time to tackle what we think is hampering us the most, while they go about fixing them normally.

Some issues are easy to fix, some are hard... te easy ones will get fixed as they go through (best example is the resource pass on medic schematics on test now), not hard, but someone had to sit down and do it. It got fixed anyway, even though the potency issue wasn't making a whole lot of people scream bloody murder (like factories are across the whole game).

Lol, I think all the correspondants have to explain this like 15 times a day in private messages.

We'd love to dump the big list on the devs... ut it really wouldn't help anything get fixed faster. Hell, right now, just the first week's lists of only 5 have swamped them, to the point that submitting a 2nd top five different than the first before they have even addressed the first seem kinda silly.

In a month or two, the top 5's will become design debates and wishlists as everything gets fixed (hopefully).

Actually i think that there are 2 of my top 5, so far, that stayed the same from last week, if I remember correctly. Different positions, but they are still in the Top 5. So I guess my list will be "going easy" on them since they don't get a whole new and completely different Top 5 (if the order doesn't change in the next day or so.)

Sorry Archo, that's not what I volunteered for. (Yeah, that's righ,I actually VOLUNTEERED to compile a list like that every week, go figure.) So the only spammig they'll get from me is what they actually requested. The Top 5 issues from that list for the week. Sorry.

Great job!

I just wanted to give you my two cents worth of reaction.

1. Money.

I agree with the diagnosis. I don't agree with the treatment. IMHO secure trade is not the answer. The answer lies in item 8 - medical missions.

2. Enhance Packs.

I agree.

3. Factories.

I agree.

4. Survey.

I think you're tilting windmills with this one. I think the "grand design" will call for us to either sacrafice the skill points or this skill a depend on others (which will of course require the item number 1 to be addressed. BTW, my plan calls for me to reserve 15 skill points for Novice Scout (camp making) and Novice Artisain (survey) and switching between them as the situation merits. The cost and effort of finding trainers and 100 gp charge is not that bad. Also, with the new restriction on unattended macroing in this latest patch, this will become much less of an issue as people will turn away from sampling in general.

5. Crafting requirements of the class

I'm happy with medic CXP. I don't have enough experience to coment on Dr. crafting XP.

6. Mind damage.

I strongly agree with this. But I don't think this is going to get fixed real soon. Also, when it does, I wouldn't be surprised to see the answer first being a number of reductions to the mind damage people can do and then a change to Musicians and Dancers (allowing them to heal mand damage in battle) and not effecting us at all.
