Thread: Factories are pulling items from crates!

Decided to test factories pulling from crates. Made a stim B schematic, put the crates in, put the resources in, did NOT draw any items from crates beforehand ... and my factory is successfully making a crate of stimpack B (has made 6 so far).
I will update this thread if anything goes wrong, so no further news = good news!
And it stopped at 7 ![]()
The message now tells you what it has run out of, and it claims there are no more chemical release mechanisms despite having a crate of 41. I had started by using leftover components from other factory runs, so the crates did not start full and one of them was two crates of identical items ... can't remember how many was in the smaller one or what it was, but perhaps it was 7 chem release mechanisms?
From this I'd guess that to keep the factory running there needs to be at least 2 crates of at least 1 component type. There was only one of each other component type in the factory when it was pulling from crates, so it's definitely different to before these patches.
Started a new run with crates as follows: 1 x BEC, 2 x CRD, 2 x ALS
Factory is happily making stims again and pulling from crates without priming. All component crates were made prior to the big patch, so this could have some effect on the results.
All crates now say volume 1 but crates made prior to the second patch still take 5 volume despite saying otherwise. New crates also have some extra stats when you examine them.
