If I had to do it over again ... I'd be much faster. First I'd do way more missions for money from the start, with money I'd buy stimpacks from high quality vendors to RAM (and I mean RAM) my way up the medical experience scale. All the while avoiding experimentation and crafting the highest stim my org chem or doc med crafting columns will allow for (simplier ingredient lists). Once I can craft decent meds I experiement away and start providing myself with my own supply of very high quality packs using all advanced components.

As for development balance: If using the above method (someone elses high quality stims) I recommend that you do everything in your power to run up the column on medical usage so you can get to the even higher med packs as quickly as possible. I believe on the medic tree that's pharmacology so I'd ignore all the other columns and focus on this till you get level IV. On the doctor tree it's called Med Knowledge go through that till you get the title Professor of Medicine. Of course next would be Wound Treatment then Wound Treatment Speed. And unless you grind early last will always be crafting.

I advise building up one tree if possible -- in order to avoid xp caps. If you've got at least one branch trained up to level 4, you know that your xp cap will be the maximum it can be. Which is useful if you're out in the field getting good xp, and can't get to a trainer very often.

I was wondering what's the best item to grind up the medical crafting tree with. Does anyone have suggestions?

Someone did a big test a while back and posted the results. I remember that the liquid suspension gave the best experience per minute.

As to whether to go up one tree to level 4 first... of course you do! You have to get rid of that Novice Doctor title as quickly as possible! Right?

This may have been covered elsewhere - but I was too tired to sift through all of the boards. What is the best strategy for climbing the Dr tree. Evenly develop, or concentrate on one branch first in order to improve xp points. Any suggestion would be most appreciated!

Thanks

From what I heard from other docs I meet in game, they lvl wound treatment speed to master and work their way left to right. I do the same and it works fairly well.

Going from left to right doesnt make much sense. You want to be able to use enhance packs and revives as soon as possible for group play. People will be orgasmic if you up their health by a large amount.
My 2 cents is that you up wound treatment and the crafting side first. You get access to revive later on the treatment path as well.

I got Wound Treatment 4 first for Enhances, Revive and higher wound healing. I've got Crafting 3, Wound Speed 2 and Knowledge 1. I noticed that my Wound Speed and Knowledge boxes came a lot faster due to being able to heal for more wound damage. More damage healed = more xp. For crafting, I've been using BECs with low quality materials to grind Crafting. I've got macros set up for my three crafting tools that automatically open the tool and then load the BEC schematic in, which greatly increased the speed at which I can grind BECs out. I use BECs because they just require 12 resources split between two general, easily available resource types. Liquid Suspensions require water and that's been harder for me to get than any old low OQ inorganic.
