Thread: Schematics. Higher max amount, dont get rid of identicals.
The reason is obvious. Lots of doctors make a living out of selling component crates. Get rid of identical components and you will annihilate their business. Sure, they might still sell crates to people that dont feel like running a factory, but it wouldnt be anything close to the demand for identical crates.
In addition, and what I find to be an even better reason,is the absurditythat we cant even fill one crate of Stim E's or Enhance Ds because of the 3 identical component requirment and max schematic limit of 100. The schematics could easily be changed to 1000 max, and they should. Why they thought 100 max in the first place I cant even begin to imagine. Must have been one of a plethora of oversights. It would be really nice if we could at least have a full crate of high level meds, but I'd really like to see the limit set to 1000 like the other professions.
Mine max out at 1000.. when you select schematic size, put your cursor in the middle of the 100 like 10|0 and hit an extra -0- and it will be 1000.
Hope this helped
Did I miss something? was someone trying to make an argument to get rid of identical components or something? What was the point of this post?
I'm going to guess it's a random rambling, considering Sickorider didn't seem to realize that you have to manually override the 100 to get 1000. Personally, I hate the manual input bug that makes it difficult to type in 200.
The suggestion to remove identical components has been brought up before and supported by folks on these forums enough to have made it onto the Big Issues List stickied up top. Not only that but so far it has gotten enough vote support to have made it all the way up to #21 on that list, which puts it in the upper half of Doc Issues.
Personally I never vote for this one, as I agree to some extent with the original poster of this thread and perhaps these kinds of arguments being made may persuade some of thsoe who have voted for that issues to reconsider their position.
In the meantime the only other way to keep the issue off the charts is to not vote for itand to make posts like this to further counter the issue in an attempt to change the minds of those who may have supported the issue previously.
Ahhh, now I get it - the argument was to remove the identical component requirement from schematics such as Stim D.
I agree that removing this requirement is a bad idea. I like to promote the need for factories. It raises the value of the bigger craftables, and takes them out of the playground of the not-so-serious medic/doctor. I own two factories and are proud to have them.
The only thing I get concerned about is the bug that causes two ABEC's to be unregognized in a stim D. Are we still suffering from that bug?
I've had a couple of people early on saying that this was still a problem. However, I use advanced multiple components in all kinds of schematics all the time, and they are definitely working in my experience or I would never even see a 26 charge enhance D if they weren't.
So to the best of my knowledge this had not been a problem since the last full Patch a couple of weeks ago.
Well, since it IS possible to produce a 1000 units on one schematic, due to this override I've just been informed of, I think we can declare this thread dead.
However, if this override isnt common knowledge, Zarlor, could you sticky a new post with that info? Just an idea.
I would love to sticky a thread with that info, but only if it had all the other Frequently Asked Questions that we always see here.
So if someone were to make a FAQ that they would be willing to update as neededwith things like these factory workarounds, the problems where enhances/cures don't work (not high enough in the appropriate branch), what Med Use levels packs come out at on average, their average stats, what resources we use and maybe even Scematics lists, then THAT thread would sticky!
Otherwise I would hate to clutter the top section with a whole bunch of threads all addressing the top questions and workarounds we normally see here. Even floating a FAQ might be considered inappropriate, but personally I think something like that would be OK.
