I could really use some direction
I am a Doctor 4 4 4 3 and want to get the most out of the profession; but crafting is quite confusing to me!
I currently have the survey tools and:
1 Factory
1 BER9 harvester of each type: Chemical, mineral, wind, water, and flora.
I have the Wind harvester working on Tatooine to start getting power together. But what now?
Looking at the list ofresources needed is quite daunting. It seems like a full time job to jump around from planet to planet surveying and harvesting with no guarantee of decent quality components!
Are there any short cuts or is there a step by step guide to reaching medical crafting nirvana?
Thank you so much!

swgcraft.com and a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head are nice little short-cuts for helping you to track down what resources are worth looking for and what planets they can be found on. Other than asking around, you have to do the fun task of finding a good spot to plant your harvesters.
Now if you are fairly well off, the "easiest" way to get your resources is to buy them which can be very expensive. This is sometimes necessary if you plan to mass produce large quantities of meds since things like the advanced chemical release duration mechanism and enhance packs take large quantities of meats (I recommend you make friends with some rangers :smileyvery-happy
.
Another option is to hire someone to do the surveying for you. This can be a huge time saver and usually isn't as expensive as having to buy the resources outright.
More than likely you will find yourself doing a combination of these things at any given time in order to pursue the neverending quest for better resources.

to be a really good doc you need a lot of time. this is not a proffesion you jump into and rock at, because resource simply dont shift often enough.
First you start collecting resources, you can collect whatever lokian wheat is on lok right now but its probably a waist of your money. It would be smarter to get several of each harvestors. Then ask around at some docs and find out whats good right now.
Oh wow there are some awsume dantooine berries out right now, best the server has ever seen!
Okay now you go and plunk down 3 or 4 harvestors on those berries, do that for a week or two. In the mean time buy some crap lok wheat in coronet if your depsrate to make ANY buffs, even if they suck.
Then go find a doc, oh wow he didnt know about that dantoone berry fruit that was so good, maybe you can trade him 10k of it for 10k of his awsume talus water he got a few weeks okay. Merry F'in XMAS! Hehe.. there ya go..
So about a month or two later you will have some of the best buffs on the server if you saved up LARGE amounts of the BEST and only the best. DONT get crap resources or you will have crap buffs. its HARD not to. I just threw out a bunch. i was lucky enough to meet a very nice doc who hooked up with some good stuf at 3cpu. Very good deal for what i got. Not it is my mission to get good stuff.
Right now I am looking out for good beries and good herbivore meat.

Here's a good source to find out what the current spawns are on your server.
http://www.iootnega.com/medresources/
It definitely takes time to get all the right resources you need with top quality.

The link is updated automatically from changes to the SWGCraft website. I would recommend checking it every time you log on to see if any resources have shifted so you get in early enough to get the most benefit out of good spawns. I would probably quit gathering my own resources if it wasn't for the iootnega website!

Yeah its hard. I just hunt/harvest what the resource guide says to (I have 10 lots just for harvestors with my alt) and if I see any good doctor resources floating around, I buy them.
When I first started I had trouble breaking 800, now I break 900 most the time.

dose anyone know of a site that gives wps and % as well as the stats? 'cause 33% 999 oq 999 pe 999 dr is great and all, but not if you can only get 1k in 3 days. now I know those arn't real figures, but my point is, there's a LOT of ground to cover, and my guild is fiarly small right now, not very meny contacts. I web site with that on it would be of great help.
