Hello master Doctors,

I am a novice Doctor and have a simploe question for you. I want to buff, but dont have enough skill points to reach master. I have a Master Doctor friend who can supply me with all the buff packs I need. So heres the obvious question.....Do I have to Master Doctor to buff??? Or do i need to just advance up the skill trees until it grants me the skill? and do i have to grind up the crafting skill?( my thoughts there are maybe I cant use them if I cant make them) anyway any help, would be awesome

Thanks,

Bob

honestly if you buff and are not a master you will provide less then adequite buffs to people that will only insight wrath against you trust me man i stopped buffing people because i got tired of all the morons that would make some stupid ass remark.

It's more fun to buff friends and people who appreciate buffs like fromer master docs who understand the pain. If you try and sell bufs and are not a master doc you will only have to deal with clients who get super pissed that your buffs only last so long or are for such and such an amount for the price.

Sincerely,

Iwill give you a few things to think about so you can make your own choice.

1. No you dont have to be a M. Doc to buff. I believe 0440 will due. You will have to buy packs with this template.

2. Yes you will not be able to buff as well as a M. Doc but darn close.

3. You will need to get buff packs that are exp down on the med use. Med use 90 are commonly sold. Just put a post in your trade forum or ask your friend to exp them down for you.

4. Since some of the exp points are used on med use and not power the pack will not as powerful as it could be but with the right resouces and a doc with extra exp points you can still make a 900+ pack.

5. With bovili you can buff as well as a M.Doc who is not useing bovili using the same pack. The bovili will eat into profits so you will need to adjust the buff price.

6. Since there are static buffs (no randomness) you can find the right price point for your buffs to make money. Just let folks know the power/duration of your buff and the price. They will then make the choice to buy or not. I will not quote price numbers becuase the price is dependent on so many other things than the power of your buff.

7. 90% of buffies do not need great buffs, they just think they do. In fact, for secondaries over 1500 is a waste. But again, the value of the buff is in the customers eyes so to them it is worth what ever they think it is.

8. You will find customers. You will get more grief from M. Docs who think you are a scab than your buffies.

9. Their is value in being a M.Doc. You save cash on not using Bovili, better buff packs, more common buff packs, etc. Also, many people will seek out M. Docs for buff when they do a search so you get more customers.

10. Selling buffs involves working with customers. It is not easy and many docs give up buffing for cash. See my thread title "Buffing for Cash, some thoughts" to see my tips and othere peoples comments.

Thank you very much for your reply, it was exactly what i was looking for. I will go up 0-4-4-0 and i will have my friend make me bbuff packs appropriate for my template. I plan on buffing myself or friends, but if I sell them i will shout the buff lvl, duration and discounted price. This way it is up to them and there should be no confusion. i will also read that thread you mentioned and i will learn more there as well. No one more question if i could? Where do i get Bovili? Being a Wookie ( I cant wear Bio clothes) I need to get a droid and this food/drug.

Thanks

Go to your trade forum for your server and put up a post "WTB Bovili". Chefs will jump on you.

Some details.

1. There are several stats to watch for.

a. crate size should be up 25 units.

b. uses is up to 3 per unit (best I have seen).

c. power is up to +25 (best I have seen is 24.99)

d. Duration is up to 15 min (or at least thats the best I have seen)

2. There are two basic types; BE and no BE. BE being Bio Engineered. Non-BE caps at about +10 but will be much cheaper than BE which caps at +25. The BE subcomponents adds cost to the chef so they charge more and add a bit more to their margin becuase of the high grade status.

3. From a cost standpoint it is better to have 3 charges vs 2 and give up a bit in power. For example, having a 3 charge and +20 is better than having 2 charges and getting +25. The extra +5 will make little difference to the buff but the extra charge will save lots of cash.

4. Server to server prices differ. On Flurry +25 goes for 150-200k a crate of 25, 3 use, 15 min.

5. Many people have a 2k per stat mindset. So see if you can get over that with just the buff pack and you will be fine.

6. I believe there is clothing that wookies can wear. Ask a tailor before you give up on the BE clothing. Ask the tailor forum. I am not a wookie so I don't know for sure.

Wookies CAN wear bio clohtes... they just aren't easy to find. Best way is to ask a few master tailors or bio engineers (its a joint effort)....or check local shops to find one carrying a good selection of bio clothes....you can also post on your trade forum about it.

I belive what you get is a +25 hood. Since +25 is the cap for skill enhances,, it doesn't matter you can't wear a +100 outfit or anything. You get less selection but what else is new? I know I have purchased a +25 injury/wound wookiehood and the sigil skirt for a friend before....

Clothes last longer than bivoli and are actually cheaper on my server. (Clothes run around 25k-50k...similar to the price of one crate of bivoli!. Clothes don't vannish after use...if you are careful to put your clothes away in the bank or your bot before combat....they should last you a lot longer than that crate will).

Obviously if you can use both that's the best... but in the long run, you may find that with bio clothing your buffs are high enough for your own use or for selling to the casual buff buyer.

Thanks guys, very helpful information. it sounds like the BE hood is my best bet. The Bivoli sounds very expensive to me. Or maybe I just havent accumulated enough money.... Ok I will go for 0-4-4-0 and have my friend make me powerful enhances exp. down . Find that hood and I'm in business. Thanks again guys.
