Thread: Equation for Buff Pack Power based on Buff Pack Resources?

Read the FAQ. Checked out the Buff Calculator. I found this:

1. The FAQ only tells the equation that shows how strong a buff will hit for, not how to calculate the strength of the pack based off inputed resources.

2. The calculator expects you to experiment all points into power on all subcomponents and still doesnt seem to be totally accurate.

Can anyone explain how the subcomponents effect buffs and how to calculate the power of a buff pack (not what it buffs a person for but the power of the pack itself ) based on avian, reactive gas, and sub components. Also equations for subcomponents strength would be nice too.

Thank you.

Did a little experimenting on my own with an ASDS

OQ = 66%

Dolovite Iron = 993*0.66 = 655(655*100)/660 = 99.24

Dom Oats = 985*0.66 = 650(650*100)/660 = 98.48

PE = 33%

Dolovite Iron = --*--=---

Dom Oats = 937*0.33 = 309 (309x100)/330 = 92.8

So I then took (99.24+98.48+92.8)/3 = 96.84 or 97% max experimentation percentage

So then:

(ASDSMax*MaxExperimentation%)/100=ASDS Power

75*97/100 = 72.75 Power

My ASDS's showed 73Power so rounded up it would appear my calculations came out right.

Check out my calculator:

Clicky

The equation I used is:

((avian oq + avian pe + reactive oq)/3)*0.76 + 40 + total of components

I found the equation in a discussion and thought it worked really well. None of it was stickied or in the faq.

You do realize that all those calculations simplify to just deviding the OQ or PE by 10, right?

How does 937 = 92.8*10?My equations are just off. So not really simplifying my calculations, just showing me how to do it right

Now that you pointed out that you can divide the OQ or PE by 10 things work out right lol.

I actually did just simplify them. I just didn't point out the error in your last set. Other than that math error, the only reason you were off, was that you added significant figures in the first 2 sets (started with 3 and somehow got 4), and rounded in the middle of your calculations instead of waiting until the end.
