Hello, I was wondering what an income for a Crafting Doctor would be. I was doing the math on a calculator, and I've come to the conclusion that they make ALOT of money. On Lowca server, good Avian Meat was selling for 350CPU, and docs where buying it. I was thinking to myself how a doctor could possibly make an income buying this. Than I did some research.

Per Buff: 22 Avian(A)X6

Per Buff Pack(BP): 132A

132A X 100BP = 13,200 A per 100 buff sets

13200A X 350C = 4,620,000 Credits for Avian

100BP X 250,000C (Ide say average credit amount for a set of buffs on server) = 25,000,000

25,000,000 - 4,620,000 = 20,380,000

Now ill be generous and say the rest of the resources cost 5 mill (which is rediculous).

= 15,380,000 Credits

So basically if you only had 13000 Good meat, you would be making 15 million credits.

Is this right, or am I just crazy?

they actually make more than what your calculating because its not 22 avian per.

Action uses any organic (hence the reason its usually higher than the rest of the buff)
Health uses 28 avian
Everything else is 22 avian.

Thats 116 avian per buff set. subtract the number needed to make the best set of schems you can squeeze out and you still have several thousand percent markeup.

You are not wrong or crazy, a commercial crafting doc makes an insane amount of cash.

I think 200k is the most any of the major Crafting Doctors on Gorathcharges for a non Janta buff.

Dang, if I could make 250k on my 1000 setsof 892 Power packs, I'd have about 250 Million rather than 110 Million.

You talking Biv/havla Included? they go for less than 100k on kette..

The best Liquid p4 Fuel costs around 80 cpu on my server (atm!) and you need for 1 Buffpack 2 ACRDs means... around 2.5k for p4. The same with Herbivore Meat (also around 80 cpu, same amount needed) ~2.5k. And Wild Wheat and Tat. Fiberblast is needed in massive amounts and can also easily cost around 40-50 cpu for a best ever spawn that is months away. Same goes for Dolovite Iron and Oats (but you really dont need so much from these). I have also seen that best spawn Reactive Gas costs 50-80 cpu on some servers, so: If you have not harvested all best ever spawns yourself in good amounts the other resources will mostly cost you more than the Avian. Just wanted to say that because many people only see the avian and underrate the other resources.

But you are right, Doctors can make a decent profit and thats the case for every crafting profession. :-) The hard part will be to get all stuff sorted for making your first run of 100 sets and you will spent much more money then you get back in the early stage.
Finaly: If you want to make most profit better do AS, WS or Chef. ;-)

How can chef make more of an income? I mean sure, the resources are easier to come by, but the demand is much lower. Buff Packs go Very Very quick due to the high demand. Where as Chef, Vasarian Brandy u make a crate of 25 with 16 in each, they are set for awhile. Plus, on my server, buff packs are 200k+ and VB goes <150k.

Buffing docs charge average 15k, ive seen 20k sometimes.

Chefs have more customers. Only doctors buy buff packs. EVERYONE buys brandy as well as other foods. I know chefs that sell out of runs of40 crates of brandy in a day or so. When I buy food I usually stock up if someone makes a nice run of food. There are lots of other food beside brandy that I buy such as thaktillo, synth steak, ahrisa, etc. Chef is one of the most profitable professions. The problem with doctor is that we rely too much on creature harvested meat. If a really nice avian meat spawns all the doctors go crazy and pay about 300cpu for a current spawn. This same spawn now sells for about 1500cpu here on Ahazi and there is very little of this changing hands. All this competition causes resource prices to be really high. Doctors make a lot of money but they also need to invest in a lot of expensive resources and must shell out a large chunk of credits when a good meat spawns because you don't know when the next good spawn is going to be. On Ahazi we went several months without a decent Avian spawn then there were about 3 within 2 weeks. Still its been about 8 months since there was an avian meat with 900+oq and 900+pe.

Yeh.. I'll have to geta screenshot, docs charge 10-12k per buff (all 6), For packs.. I know a shop that's 6k per pack (~36k a set).
