Thread: I think we are going to love these new chef foods

Along with making chef foods less about stat buffs and more about skill enhances (and as a result making them much more interesting in combat), we got thrown this little gem:

Bivoli Tempari

Type: Skill Mod

Effect: Healing Treatment (Wounds) Bonus

Since enhances work off of the wound heal formula, this should increase our buffs.

Here is the entrees thread:

And here is the overall description of the chef changes (without many detailed schematics):

Hmmmm...Any idea if this will stack with BE clothing? For example, if you're already at +25 wound treatment from some clothing, will you see any benfit from this food?

I know it will stack, I dunno if it will affect the cap (2 diferent things).

I'll check it out when the chef stuff hits TC.

If it still isn't clear then, I'll ask.

Great! Thanks!

It would also be interesting to know how the filling/power balance will play out. Certainly, for just buffing yourself, it would be nice to pop some food to up your skill and quickly buff yourself. But, what would happen if you're sitting in Coronet selling buffs for a couple hours?

Will you be able to constantly keep your bonus? Or will the food be so filling that you'll eat some, perform some buffs, lose the bonus, and then have to wait some period of time before you can take more to get the bonus back? My guess is that it would be the latter.

If that's the case, though, is that going to have much impact on the Doctor community? Are people going to demand buffs with the food bonus? If so, what will that do to a doctor's evening selling buffs and a doctor's source of income?

Maybe these are non-issues, but they popped into my head, so I thought I'd bring them up.

PArt of the answer is food schematic level, part is experimentation.

Some foods are "lines." So there is a motre powerful version higher up in the tree someplace (even Sir Vimes hasn't seen the whole list I don't think BTW. We are waiting on a TC update).

Depending on the power, and how much the chef has experimented on the filling and duratio nstats, some of this stuff seems possible to run forever (or until you run out of the food). Some food stacks with itself, soem doesn't... Stat buffs seem to, I think skill buffs don't..

So pulling a numeber out of my butt a +8% wound treatment food, will probably not stack w/ itself. But that would be good though because you could keep the +8% forever AND eat other food, by just eating the Wound Treatment food only whenever it ran out.

While a food w/ +30 Health might be able to be stacked. and eating 20 of them (and getting full ould get you 500 health, but you'd have to eat that food and only that food constantly to keep the full bonus up.

Both of those numbers are probably low... and food can be experimented and affected by material quality.. Nobody knows the end caps on this stuff, or even the averages.

I don't have a lot more info then you right now. Vimes is going nutty waiting for the TC patch. I actually missed any reference to a + Wound Treatment food... gonna have to go to the chef board and look for that.

[edit] ahh there it is.. Yeah Bivoli.. [end edit]
