Thread: Enhancement base value too low...what to do?

When I initially became master doc I realy didn't have the first clue about making enhancements. So I just kinda mixed various items together into a coctail and lo....my buffs had a basevalue of 800-850 with a duration of about 11k seconds. Then I, by chance, saw some buffs for sale that had a basevalue of 920 and a med use of 90. Wow! "I gotta make me some of these" I thought, and ventured into reading the FAQ for doctors that has been posted here frequently. Fairly soon I became confident that I now understood the concept of buff crafting. But alas no. Now my buffs have a basevalue of about 750 and duration 7-9k seconds. Yikes! What went wrong?

Here is what I THINK I have learned:

1.The better the bio effect controler, the more powerfull buff you will create (an advanced bio controler needs high PE lokian wild wheat and high OQ Tatoonian fiberplast...correct?)

2.Thehigher the PE of the Avian meat, the more powerfull buff you will create

(I have understood that OQ plays only a minor role, 33%, when using organics)

3.The higher the OQ of the reactive gase, the more powerfull buff you will create. (inorganics OQ means everything)

4.The better the Liquid suspension, the more uses your buff will have

5.The better the Chemical release, the longer duration your buff will have

These are the "rules" under which I have worked. Seen as I am getting poorer results since I have "learned" these things, it leads me to believe that somewhere in these "rules" there is a terrible mistake. Something that I have completely misunderstood. Did I get mixed up in OQ and PE? Does the bio controler even have any influence at all? Is the world round or square? And so on and so on...

I ask you to question all of the above listed "rules".Because something is realy realy wrong.

I have searched the web in vain for a complete crafting walkthrough. The closest I got to a walkthrough was the FAQ that has been posted here several times (sorry.....I cant remember the authors name). It only deals with crafting in general terms and not specifically to Bio controlers, Chem releases and so on. So I now turn to the proffesionals in SWG who may not have authored a webpage of their own, but do know how to craft top-class enhancements.

Help will be greatly appreciated. If you can .

I was using buff packs at 650/9565. I bought some packs at 820/12000+

Cant say I've seen much difference. I get less pathetically low results. But still get 900. I get a few "omg, wow" that are 2200+.

In general I get buffs of 1100 - 1800 per stat. Obviously there is a market for the High End, but day to day, regular PvE, or even constant PvP im just going with trying to raise duration.

With regards to components:

Bio Effect controller. Determines how many charges your final product has. Experiment this as high as you can on charges, then do power. Yes, it needs the highest OQ and PE Lok Wild Wheat and Tatooine Fiberplast.

The higher the OQ and PE of Avian Meat the more powerful the buff will be. The higher the DR the longer your buff lasts.

The higher the OQ of the reactive gas, the more powerfull buff you will create.
The higher the DR of the reactive gas the longer your buff will last.

The better the Liquid suspension, the more power your buff will have

The better the Chemical release, the more power your buff will have

No, BioEffect controllers are really what increase the charge of an item. Their are two stats to experiment on whem making a BEC. Power and Charges. The Power category will not significantly increase the end result of your buff pack, while charges WILL. You should put as much experimentation into the charges of the BEC first. Additionally, OQ is the more important stat for BOTH the wheat and fiberplast. PE is still important for both, and if you want the best BEC you can get, the OQ and PE for BOTH resources should be as high as possible.

2.Thehigher the PE of the Avian meat, the more powerfull buff you will create

No, you got it backwards, OQ is more important, PE is only 33% of the equation. But still, having a meat with both OQ and PE as high as possible is ideal.

3.The higher the OQ of the reactive gase, the more powerfull buff you will create. (inorganics OQ means everything)

Your correct on this one. Also, the Decay resistance (the only other stat for reactive gas) will determine the duration of the buff, so having high DR is important too.

4.The better the Liquid suspension, the more uses your buff will have

Buffs dont use liquid suspension, they use Solid Delivery shells. And yes, the better the shell, the better the buff.

5.The better the Chemical release, the longer duration your buff will have

CRDM's will add to the power. For example. When I make a buff pack with a regular CRDM of power 18, I can easily get the buff pack to an 800 base. If I use an advanced CRDM with a power of 50, my buff pack will come out with a base closer to 850.

To get the most out of your buff packs, the ideal resources would be:

  • Avian Meat 900+OQ 900+PE

  • Reactive Gas 900+OQ 900+DR

  • ABEC 20+charges 15+power

  • ACRDM 50+power

  • ASDS 65+power

Using those ingredients you should easily be able to get 850-900 power packs or higher.

Thankyou for the reply.

I knew I was getting something backwards. And you helped clear that up. Also I made a mistake when I listed liquids supensions as an ingredient. You are ofcourse correct in saying that buffs use Solid Delivery mechanisms. But glad you caught that one.

I will try and get my resources according to your helpfull words and not pay as much attention to the PE as I have previously. Hopefully that does the trick.
