It's not possible YET, but come pub 10 it will be easier then ever to AFK grind doc. According to the pub 10 release notes, you'll be able to call droids, pets, and vehicles from your toolbar.

What you'll need
1) Grind to 020x Doc, 0204 if you need to make your own packs.
2) Either have a friend custom make you some A - D MU90 level packs, or make your own.
3) Get novice scout and some camps
4) get a non-ch pet

What you'll do
1) Sit in camp
2) Call pet
3) Group pet
4) Target pet using group commands
5) Buff pet with your As, BS, Cs, or D MU90, whatver you can use at your current level
6) Store pet
7) Repeat

Grind up to 024x first so you can use MU90 Ds for faster xp, then go to 044x for more xp per buff. If you dont have anyone to custom make the buff packs, you'll need to do the craft grinding first so you can make your own.

The macro would look something like this...

/ui action toolbarSlotXX; (Calls pet)
/say g; (Groups pet)
/target next group member; (I dont know the exact command for this)
/healenchance x 6 (Does the buffing)
/say st; (Stores pet)
/macro buffPet;

Once you reach the level to buff you can get XP very easily anyhow as you get massive XP with each buff. Not really a need for a "recursive" macro. I've set 'recursive' in quotation marks as it's in discussion to remove them. Then something like your macro wouldn't work anyhow.

The best way to grind doc xp is still going out with an unbuffed hunting group and do what you're actually supposed to, healing people.

I rather enjoyed takin the trusty droid to the spawn in point at Spamonet starport and healing wounds as people loaded in. Good wound B's and the xp rolls in rather fast, and the thank you tells I got occasionally were great.

someone with health and action buffs only, while tumbling, it works for me, and I can craft B or C stims to grind crafting exp while I use them. I actually did doc without grinding except for the last crafting box almost a year ago, that one was tough and I just sat for an hour a day crafting and in a week I got it, I hate grinding crafting, but if people feel the urge to become a master asap instead of the way the game intended it, then you have a good idea.

Man, didn't you know that this forum is filled with people hell-bent on making every doc play the way they did? You must have missed the memo that said "If you find any way to gain easier Doctor xp, we will grief you both on the forums and in game." "We are relentless, and will continue to post about how AFK docs, Tumbler Healers, Pet Healers, and anyone who didn't "earn" their title should be banned from using any skill in the doctor profession." "We will buff you, your tumbler, your pet, or anything else we can to make your activities less amusing or beneficial."

Sorry they never told you....

The point is, you can do it AFK and not have to sit there and actually do this yourself. I don't have carpel tunnel, but it's very nasty so doing everything one can to reduce the risk is a good thing. Besides, grinding doc at the keyboard isn't fun either.

Macro nerf or not, there are ways around that... the same ways that save one's wrists and fingers when craft grinding. The same ways in fact, that are going to be encouraged by the macro nerf.

However, the macro I have in mind for this is all in game (read: doesn't violate the license).

From what TH has been saying, the will probably leave /marco and /ui action toolbarSlot## in the game and just have a listener or something that kills a string of commands that repeats for an extended amount of time. Regardless, pressing one button every 10-30 min is much less damaging to your body then manually grinding med xp.

Guys, calm down. False alarm.

I tested this on TC2 today, by accidnet actually , when I tried to call my pet dewback from the toolbar. Calling from the toolbar only works for vehicles.

Travon, it's not much about harassing the tumbler docs in the game (although I still have an itching finger to the buff button when i see a tumbler), but more about creating a healthy population of docs who actually know what to do when thrown into a group. An afk tumbler doc will just stand aside in a battlefield situation, his thumb up his butt since he has no packs for either poison / disease / state / rez, etc.

No huge impact right now since everyone's solo grouping anyway, but once the buff nerf kicks in there's going to be some change.

Im sorry but the best/least expensive way to grind Doc (and lets face it most of us did/do this) is with tumbling. Sure its considered cheesy and lame but "go out ina group and heal peopl"...umm, when was the last time you saw a non DWB type group. And those people are gonna be buffed/armored and Stim themselves and most liekely wont need healing to begin with.

This is the best way. Get about 5 or six people who are grinding....most people are hologrinding. Have everyone get primary buffed and tumble and heal your way to Master Doc over night. We had like three people tumbling so it was just as easy as making the macro to target each on, heal, recylcle..

If you know how to play the game there is no real need to go out and "learn" how to be an effective Doc..this an easy class to play and the easiest (provided you have a bit of cash/friends) to master (although someone said ID can be mastered in like 40min)

Because everyone who heals tumblers and/or uses afk macros can't figure out how to be a doctor in about 5 minutes. Just because you had to do it the hard way doesn't mean you're anymore or less qualified than someone who watched t.v. during the grind and now is a doctor. I love how "it's the way we were SUPPOSED" to do something is thrown around. Until I see Pex descend from the mountain with one of the tablets reading: "and doctors shall be unbuffed and in groups to gain experience" I think that healing tumblers for said experience will still be considered a valid way to grind by anyone who can spoon feed themselves with a high degree of efficieny.

Oh, and if you don't bring any type of state packs with you then you'll very quickly be a dead doctor with no one wanting to group with you...i'd imagine anyone in that situation would probably learn what they need real quick.

I guess the secrets out Knowing how to craft with a doctor is pretty easy if you spend about 5 minutes looking at schematics. It's not knowing how things work so much as making them work, being efficient, and becoming a good resource collector. Don't let my revelation spoil your fun though, what would the tower be without you.

there is a much cheaper and much faster method:

you need a friend that runs following macro:

/duel
/m killme;

then you get a crate of 10 rezz-packs and run the following macro:

/duel;
/attack; (or insert best attack you have)
/deathblow;
/revive;
/m belameandgrinddocin20min

whit a good attack you kill him very fast and get 800xp/sec this way.
