Thread: Major bug today, anyone else have this problem with bivoli?

Twice today I've tried to take bivoli to buff my guild mates. Twice it says I've taken the bivoli, but the bivoli "servings" stayed the same even after I took it. The bivoli does not take effect, and my buffs are hitting just like I didn't take the bivoli. If I try a different bivoli, it says I'm already under the influence of this food and taking more won't help. The bivoli doesn't show up in my modifiers window either.

Any idea how to fix this, is it a dev issue? Anyone know what the deal is on this?

Thanks for any ideas,
Miz

were you in player placed hospital?

I know it sounds like a dumb question, but if your in a player hospital like in your city
the hospital, and the city's setting (med center) will cap your buff and no matter if you
chow down on 1 or 100 bivoli, the buff amount wont change.

Just a thought.

Well, apparently it's just me. I had a CSR try everything they could think of to fix it, but nothing worked. I can eat everything under the sun with the exception of bivoli.

His final answer was "Wait until server reset, maybe that will fix it". So in other words, I'm basically SOL until SOE decides to reset the server.

I know guy who had the same problem.

CSR managed to help him. He cleaned one of the records ( I forgot how exectlyis called what he did).

But it worked. Server reset should help but you may have to wait for it for a week or even more.

This makes no difference. The location and player city modifiers are different, and take effect after the doc's own modifier (even with bivoli). The +25 caps for clothing and bivoli are seperate, as are the location/droid and med center city bonuses. A master doc with +25 clothes, +25 bivoli, a 110 droid in a med center city with buff for more than one with the same clothes, food and droid who is not in a med center city.

Very odd. I have not had any problems with bivoli this week and I use it multiple times a day every day.

This "I-cannot_eat-Bivoli-bug" happens ONLY when you are KILLED when under its effect. The timer freezes while the effect is purged. And yes, only way to get rid of that bug is a reboot.

So I recommend: NEVER be overt when using Bivoli, NEVER get a TEF and thus NEVER buff overts when under Bivoli.

P.S.: Best way to anger Docs is to wait till one gets TEF by buffing under Bivoli - they get stuck. On the other hand, with you not knowing abusing a bug for sure its NOT an exploit. Serves as a good example for lame game mechanics and that CSRs have seldom a clue what to do...

Thankfully the server reset the following morning, and my problem was fixed.

I do not recall if I had taken bivoli while under a tef or in combat or if I had died while under the effects of bivoli. Since I am a combat doc, it is entirely possible. I have buffed overt players for months now, died after doing so, and never had this problem before.

Either way, I'm just happy it's fixed. I hate throwing crappy buffs.
