I have two avian meats. one that I have worked with in the past to produce a pack with the power of 910. this new one I cannot get any higher than 894. I am using the same or slightly better sub comps now.

my subs are ABEC's 24/15 power/charge, ASDS 73, ACRDM's 64

old meat that did the 910 pack is OQ826/PE999

new meat that does the 894 packs is OQ971/PE784

now using OQ 66% and PE 33% they look like this

old meat 883.66 for power

new meat 908.66 for power.

mabe my numbers are wrong somewhere but shouldn't this new meat be slightly better for power?

that's it! 981 vs 942. how did I not realize that. luckily I have plenty of that old stuff so I'll use that. I only picked the 942 because it had a DR of about 950.

thanks for lookin that over. I supose sometimes it's easier to find something when you aren't so close to it

It's not just the gas, it's the PE. The old meat is MUCH better for power. Because reactive gas has no PE, the avian's PE is just as important as its OQ. The avian's PE counts as the average PE (33% weighted), but the OQ is only half of the average OQ (66%/2 = 33%), with the OQ of the gas making up the rest. Don't use 66% and 33%, use 50/50. That makes your old meat 912.5 and the new meat 877.5.

I agree 100% with Obata. I weight OQ and PE equally when comparing avian meats because that is the way that the crafting system does it.

There is a very good section in the doctor crafting guide in the stickies that goes deep into the details. I glossed over that the first time I read it and it took me another couple reads (and some tests for myself) to convince me that it is right.

this is kinda old now but I believe you are right. man how frustrating too. I ran the appropriate numbers on that damn meat before spending alot of money on it and now I'm stuck with something inferior

lol. yea I got alot. 250k units. I supose I shouldn't complain as it'll still make a pack that is 894 power but I always try above all to hit 910 so that my customers can do 2500 buffs. as scarce as avian has been here though even 894 will sell well.

as to diging into the details, I used the knowledge that was available and basic math which SOE seems to have something against

You actually got a lot out of that inferior meat. You got a reason to dig into the details and learn WHY the meat is inferior. That lesson will serve you well in your crafting future...
