Thread: Unable to craft high quality buffs

My components are pretty good:
ABEC's: 24 power, 14 charges
ACRDM's: 60 power
ASDS: 71 power
Avian meat: OQ 871, PE: 661 dr: 929
Reactive gas: OQ 936 Dr: 266
I can only make 10k duration, 842 power, 22 charge, non-md with these, but with everything the same except for the avian meat.

Q: 709 Pe: 936 Dr: 489
I am able to make 852 power, 22 uses, 8500 duration, non-md. Shouln't the power with the first avian meat be much higher since OQ is 66% of the power? and Pe is only 33%???????? I have used almost a whole crate of components trying to get better results....
p.s. I am a 11pt master doc with the best crafting tools on the server availible.

I think I may have found the problem:
"Power:
The effective formula is (Avian OQ + Avian PE + Gas OQ)/3. Again, the avian PE is overweighted since the gas has no PE."

That is precisely correct. Compare avain meats by using OQ+PE and you will get your best power results. Every bit of DR that you can get is icing on the cake...

your subcomponents are decent.
to get higher charges on your final buffs you should reverse the experimentation on your ABECS to 14power/24charges (i try to make the abecs always 20/20).
and indeed your avian meat is holding you back on the final buffpower, your duration is good in my opinion.
you should look for 950+oq/950pe avian meat for the best result in power and experimentation, but it all depends on what resources your server has ofcourse
i think your reactive gas is good enough, but there might be gas with higher oq on your server.

you're problem is in the minerals.... you're duration is definately the decay resistance on the gas, the DR accounts for 60% of the duration, and the OQ 40%
as far as the power goes, you're ACRDM could be a little better, but not too bad. what you're really missing is the OQ, in both your meats, 709 OQ will not yield great results. 871 is decent but with a 661 PE it's again going to hurt in the end product.
Avian meat: OQ 871, PE: 661 dr: 929 = 792/1000 possible max power
Avian meat:OQ: 709 Pe: 936 Dr: 489 = 775/1000 possible max power
those aren't bad but they're not great
compare it to some recents from our server:
Irop Naboo Avian: OQ 902, PE 943, DR915 = 906/1000
Papeo Naboo Avian: OQ 830, PE 995, DR 518 = 875/1000
Ulfatitt Naboo Avian: OQ 955, PE 884, DR 656 = 921/1000
all of these types of meat are fairly recent and break the 900 power mark with components around yours (swap the abecs power/charges) when combined with
Oowa Skevon Reactive Gas: OQ970, DR874
my advice to you, get some better reactive gas with a higher DR, 850+, and you'll see your duration start to climb up there. for power, get your avian's OQ/PE total over 830 and you'll start hitting that 875+ power mark. you have decent subcomponents, it's up to you what you want to do with that ABEC, I and most docs would recommend that you put most of your experimenting into the charges so your packs have 28+ uses.
being an 11 point doc isn't going to make your power any higher, maybe be 1 or 2 points in the ABEC, so 1 or 2 points in the end product, that 11th point will let you drop the MU down to 90 so non-masters can use the packs.

As a couple have already said here, OQ and PE are of equal importance when your looking at buff effectiveness. I wrote up the long explanation here. Your weakness is your avian meat. Making the great buff packs takes avain with OQ+PE>1800. I also agree that you would be best off experimenting your ABECs for charges instead of power.
