Hello everyone,

Ever since I heard of this game, I wanted to be a Creature Handler, but as I really don't like the way this class is treated, I find myself contemplating new, unexplored paths.

The main one being:

* Master Medic
* Wound treatment IV + Doctor's crafting IV (forgot the actual name, but it's what I need to make and use Revive, and do some pretty impressive healing)
* Exploration IV (movement and camouflage so I'll survive longer in the jungle)
* Speed and Accuracy branches of Rifleman (so that if I manage to get a shot off in PVP, it will be worth it)
* Ranged Support III (Warning shot)

This would take 212 points.

My questions:

* Would you recommend other choices in the medical section?
* What would you recommend for the remaining 38 points?
* Do you recommend crafting your medicine yourself or buying it? Are quality medicines easily available? How much time and money does it cost to run the necessary factory and harvesters?

Thanks for your help!

Master Medic. Get it. 'Nuff said.

For the doctor skill trees... wound treatment is nice to have because you can gain medical experience fast, and you gotta love theability to rez... however Medicine Knowledge is going to boost your "medical use" stat so you can use Stim D and Stim E's. I don't have the exact numbers of what is required med use for these packs... but that tier will get the number higher. Med Crafting is great because you have more control over what you make, and you're not depending on others. Very often the people selling meds are either selling the crappy ones they had an expiramentation failure on... are selling for much more than they're worth... or just have A's and B's for sale which generally aren't the best (I can see the upcoming flame from pharmaceutical salespeople now hehe).

I have Exploration III for terrain negotiation, but Explore I is enough for that methinks. Going to the fourth tier if you have the third is only 2 little points though... so go for it

Some kind of weapons experience is great, especially advanced experience. Doctor's are the best soloers imho. We can completely heal ourselves, buff ourselves, and fight.

<3 Warning Shot.... but you might as well go for Ranged Weapon Support IV since you get stat bonuses.

With the other 38 points you might want to train in artisanship for benefits in crafting as well as surveying/sampling. Also consider novice entertainer so you can cure mind wounds / BF.

riflemen are supposed to fight prone (the whole concealment line focuses on making your prone more effective if memory serves correctly) and you can't heal like that. Coupled with the melee damage multiplier for rifles and the fact that you need to be within 7m to heal anyone, I'd say throw in some pistol skills. Alternately, you could get surveying with your remaining points. Since you're taking doctor's crafting, you're going to need lots and lots of resources. If you think harvesting them yourself is expensive, try finding a good deal on some of the rare resources we need (I'm really only familiar with adv components for rare resources atm. I dont know anyone besides a doctor who needs Lokian wild wheat for example, and I'd bet that if you dont need it (ie your not some form of medic), youre not going to go through all trouble toextract it just to sell it at low cost because its a doctor resource and they're poor)

Thanks for the tips, everyone.

Looks like I'll put in some surveying, then. Ah, the choices...

If you like screwing around with harvesters and resources and like crafting then do that. Ittakes a lot of time and there should be medicine stores on your server if there's not already. Personallyi'm not into the whole crafting minigameandso i'm not eventraining doctor crafting.

What I would do is:

Marksman with rifle specialist with ranged support 4

Master Medic

Master Rifleman

Doctor with wound treatment 4 (rez, enhance bs, wound cs, stim es)

Scout with explore 3 (4 gives no bonus to movement)

Combat medic with combat support 3 (ranged bs I think maybe cs too)and ranged distance 1

By giving up elite medicine crafting you gain a lot of firepower and versatility. The disadvantage ishaving to buyall the doctor and combat medic stuff you use.

my stance on rifleman/CM is well known by now...

rifleman fight best prone...if u are prone you cant heal....

rifles are slow...

rifles drain mind like crazy...no mind = no heals.

yeah elenora is right, even though I love my carbine I think pistol is the best choice for doc/combat medic because of the speed and defense bonuses.

Interesting, interesting. The ranged heals of combat medic look good too!

As for the rifleman part, that's open for discussion. I am most advanced in rifles now, so I thought I'd just keep that. What I like about rifles is (a) the hard hitting and (b) hitting the mind pool. I intend to do a bit of PVP too, although this may not be the most efficient character for it. So I figured I would benefit from keeping the fights as short as possible, going for one hit incaps and distant deathblows.

Nevertheless, I see the common sense in your objections. I hesitate a little about Pistols because everyone seems to do that, but then again it does seem to be the most efficient fighting skill.

Does anyone know of medic stores on Wanderhome?
