I still don't see where 'ranged' keeps coming into this.

I see "Area Cure" in the subject line. I don't see "ranged" listed anywhere in it. That's like saying that /pointBlankArea1 is a ranged AoE because I can somehow create anradius of attack some 20m away, whereas the actual attack is based around the player's location, creating a radius of attack based around that player.

Where is all of this "Ranged" stuff coming from?

Doctors have 0 Ranged abilities. Okay. Fine. Range: 0. Area of effect: X Meters.

CM's craft a Dispersion mechanism.

Okay. So you have a Dispersion mechanism in a Doctor's Disease Cure Kit.

Okay.

Range 0: Youuse it. Everything around you in a radius is affected.

Where's the problem?

I scanned the responses but generally I agree with those who say that the ability to cure states (whether area or single person) should stay with doctors--perhaps as someone suggested, area cures could be granted to people who are hybrid cm/docs only so that CM is not completely neutralized since fewer people would pick up the hybrid.

Also, since allowing innoculations would impact CM's effectiveness, I think it makes sense for Cm's to be involved in the crafting of the innoculations, if not also the delivery of them (giving them a type of "anti-poson buff" that they can deliver). This would give CM's an income stream to offset the complaint they have that they don't really have something to sell as doctors do. I liked the idea that the innoculations could be crafted to various strengths (just like hte poisons) perhaps at increasing levels just like buffs.

The only thing I dont want to see is for docs to lose something they already have--if an area cure went to CM's, it would push us to being just buffers/crafters (another step toward turning us into a class of alts rather than a main profession).
