Thread: In defense of force healing

Check it again. Master Healer requires 113 skillpoints.

That is all completely FALSE!Master Healer takes a total of 89 Skill points(leaving 161 points). Master Doctor on the otherhand takes a total of 106 Skill points(leaving 144 points). And like i said earlier, a Master Doctor/Master Combat Medic (with a Medical Droid)can't heal as much as much a a Jedi Healer.
Factoring in FS skills yes, it is more. But FS skills can be anything, not a specific prerequsite to Healer. Thus why I didn't include it
That doesn't change the fact that they're required.

I'm not lecturing everybody about jedi. It's kind of obvious to me that if this thread is about comparing master doc and healer 4xxx or master healer than you CAN NOT even begin to compare them unless you include requirements for each one. And i'm sorry if it seems like lecturing but it takes more than a line to list the requirements to healer 4xxx (mostly because there is about 20x more xp required than what isrequired to be master doc)
For the record I have been a md for over a year... so I'm not shooting from the hip. Even got the crappy converted meds to show for it. I like MD and still have it for a proff. But knowing what it takes for a guy to get jedi... I'm not shooting from the hip on that subject either.
On the contrary, that is EXACTLY the point. Doctors can do many things Healers cannot. This isone of the thingsmakes it balanced for a Healer to heal better than a Doctor.

Do Jedi Healers buff? I haven't taken any of the other branches and, frankly, hadn't paid attention. But I don't think they can so you can't compare.
I suppose that was to be your point however that Healers can't do everything a Doctor can. That is not news and not the point. The thread was in defense of force healing, and I think the way to defend force healing is make doctors able to compete since it is the main thrust of their profession.

I know alot of doc's believe that force healing is too over-poweredcompared to what Doctors can do. And yes it is, but for good reason. Unlike Doctor, Jedi is primarily a pvp profession (especially at Knight). If we get attacked by 5 Bounty Hunters at once, were going to need an edge, those1500 heals, to even have a chance at staying alive.
As a JK myself I can tell you when it comes right down to it, we are not all that powerful. Without Force Healing we are pretty much on par withnon-Jedi combat professions. That may not seem like a big deal but considering we are the only profession with XP loss but with the largest XP grind from anyone, we should be entitled to "some" advantages.
You can out heal 5 BHs with forceheal? Damned, I want your BHs...
Lord_Eoin wrote:
yes they are *required* but like i said, they can be any skill, not nessisarily healing. You could have Crafting Mastery and Melee and Ranged Defs. So there isn't nessisarily healing advancements
The 24 FS skills are required for the Jedi profession. This is no different from aDoc requiring8 Medic Skills for their profession. Whether they're healing or not makes no difference. They'reprerequsites for a given profession and so must be factored in when determining thetotal skillpoint cost.
Actually, get in an group and buff all the people in your group. Wait about 10 or 15 minutes into the hunting, mission, quest, whatever, and you'll notice all the people commenting on how much the buffs actually are helping. Most people think "oh, pfft. 10%", but it is worth having. It's not nearly as worthless as a lot of people believe.

So the buffs make the doctor stand out on the list, but really, buffs arn't a big commodity. 30 minutes or less with small enhancements[FOR NO EXP] dosn't give doctors incentive to buff people.
The speed and action regen buffs are particularly amazing.
