I've got an issue with healing xp.

Ever since the big patch that "fixed" creature medical xp, I've been getting no medical xp at all. I primarily play on Bloodfin, working towards Master Doc. I've had 80k med xp in reserve after mastering the 3 medical xp lines, leaving only crafting. I also am maxed in Apprenticeship Points. Since the patch, I've been getting no notification of receiving med xp or AP when healing humans or teaching.

At first, I figured it was because I was maxed in med xp and AP. I started a brawler on Tarquinas and picked up some medic skills. I threw a heal on a player. No med xp.

My cousin then signed into his account on my game. He's a bounty hunter on Bloodfin. He tried healing someone. No med xp.

I've since un-installed and re-installed my game. No luck.

Zarlor, I've talked to a few other people on Bloodfin that are hitting this problem (one in particular JUST started medic--he's screwed if this problem isn't fixed.). If you could bring this up in a future Correspondence Issues, I'd much appreciate it.

Thanks,

Octnos

Some new issues I've run into recently

1) A buffed character can recieve more wounds than they have actual health bar (particularly thanks to a flame thrower). This appears to result in a permanent incap when the recipient of the buff is finally killed. (I had to drag a teammate out of the cloning center and into the medical center to heal their 1200 health wounds).

2) If your medic XP is maxed so you don't get experience notifications, you have no idea whatsoever how much of a cure poison/disease those packs really do. I am completely unable to tell if experimenting on effectiveness for these packs has any effect on how much they heal (simultaneously I can't tell how much I've poisoned a person for, but that belongs on the CM board).

3) I believe this has been noted before but bears repeating: cure poison is not synchronous to poison application. My group was hit with an area effect poison which is absolutely devastating, no question or complaint there. The problem is, a single application of my cure poison C (experimented to 90% on effectivenss) did not completely cure the single target it was applied to. This is an insult to the doctor profession as Area Poison is significantly weaker than single target poisons.

Octnos: Sounds like something you'll have to submit a ticket on as well as send in a /bug report. I've never run into this issue before, personally, and it may be a server-specific thing, unless it is the methods being used. (And yes, 80k Med XP is the cap, BTW.)

The problem with adding an intermittent problem like that to the corre issues is that only the Top 5 issues actually get sent to the Devs. We have a listing of over 50 issues so far, so 10% of the issues won't make that list. In some cases the Top 5 will even have duplications from a previous Top 5, if something is still an issue, so it's not like a completely new Top 5 is even sent every time. Even if I did add something like this to the issues, the chances of it getting voted up as a Top 5 issue if it is not a prevalent issue (like the majority of folks not gettign the XP) are virtually nil.

Beyond which it sounds to me like it might be more of a Medic issue than a Doc issue, but if you post it on its own thread on the forums here and it gets some decent support as an issue for several other folks than I could add it. I just don't think it will ever make it out from getting onto the list to actually making it out to the Devs.

Gaalion: Thanks for the updates.

1) added in. I wold note that I THINK (but I'm not positive) that logging in this situation will at least knock the characters wound levels back up to be at least 1. I haven't tested this, though, but it should be like the stat-stick bug in that respect.

2) You've lost me on this one, kinda. I still get XP notifications. They mean nothing and don't add to anything beyond the 80k XP cap I've already hit, but I am getting notifications of getting XP. (Are you on Bloodfin as well, by chance?) At any rate XP notifications is not much of an indicator on cures/bleeds anyways. It either cures it or it doesn't. I will add in if we could get some of the the numeric indicators added, though, such as instead of saying "you reduce the bleeding", or cure or whatever, you get a message for "you reduce the bleeding by X amount".

3) Already on the list (and the CM list for that matter) with a mention under #9 and on its own as #17. However, it should also be noted that while I agree a Doc cure shoulod be the counter to a CM DoT, I think it should also depend on resources used. In other words, if a CM makes a DoT with 1000 stat resources and a Doc makes a Cure with 500 stat resouces, the cure SHOULD only be half as effective as the DoT, IMHO. If the both used 1000 stat resources, hwoever, the Doc should cancel the CM 1 for 1 in that respect, I would thihk. You are right that I do not think that is the case right now, though. I think the proper counters would be an AoE cure for Docs and same potency cures to counter those DoTs.

I will say that I think since CMS do have a greater requirement to their profession (the addition of the Ranged Weapon Support line and Novice Marksman) that they probably should get a slight boost in taht respect. Meaning that if the poison and the cure are purely equal in stats of resources used, (and the Poison does use more resources than the cure, BTW) then the posion should have a slight improvement over the cure. Just my take, though.
