I gave up BE and became a CM. Actually I find their stuff easyier to make and most of the tree work. They are actually fun to play.

Besides being a CM makes me less liking to want to send in death threats to the Devs. :>

hey Shug, been a long time since one of you stuck his nose into the medical boards.

I still haven't decided to give up on the profession I have been testing an playing for about half a year now but I am really tempted to do for a lot of the reasons, issues and bugs listed above.

My biggest gripe on that is, that i rarely see anything new posted. It's the same old stuff we told you about in Beta. but they just got added to the Bug-DB back than (you did, didn't you?)and forgotten it seems. The communication level you have been publicly celebrating to have reached has not even touched the Medical Professions except for 2 recent posts that are about as hilarious as the question on how long Doc buffs should last when we had much more important things to adress in June.

Is it realy not obvious why people are rather going Doc than CM?

Is it realy not obvious why we ask for communication?

Someone else mentioned this earlier, but I'll touch on it as well. I am heading for Master Teras Kasi. Unfortuantely, one cannot be as melee master and Master CM as it requires a total of 261 skill points. There's no use in going only paritally up the CM tree because CM is about two things: ranged healing, and poisons/diseases. Since I could only master one profession with the CM/TKA combo, it would be TKA because it's not worth taking a melee skill you can't master. CM poisons/diseases are useless until you get the Delivery-C units. I mean, c'mon...I was packin hits on creatures with poisons MAYBE every 15-20 seconds for like 40-80 dmg. Not to mention I missed chubas 9/10 times. So, since I knew I couldn't make it to Master CM (and the delivery-Cs) it was a waste. The ranged healing alone isn't enough for me. So, I chose doctor instead.

In regards to mind healing, it should be available to doctors and maybe to combat medics as well. Why can't a doctor heal your head injuries ? He's the most qualified to heal anything period.

Combat medics is there to patch you up, title says it all.. "COMBAT" medic, that's someone that can heal and also hassome very lethal offensive power as well. If mind healing goes into stimpacks it definately needs to be into STIMD (small mind heal) and STIME (good mind heal) or maybe create a new STIMF in the Master Doctor skill.

I didn't switch, never really had the opportunity to. I was planning on being a combat medic initially. But theidiotic ranged support line requirement for Combat Medics basically means that you might as well be a doctor until such time as you've accumulated that much combat experience. And once I 'was' a doctor, I found out I enjoyed the profession. When I'd finally gotten my ranged support high enough to be a combat medic, I had no skill points left, and was having fun as what I had turned out to be. I also couldn't imagine trying to cram even more different medicine types onto my extremely limited, and extremely expensive to insure (once insurance is reinstated) inventory. So no Combat Medic for me!

i was a combat medic before the patch. i quit because poisons didn't work....it was a huge letdown to get all that way to only find out that they didn't work. i have since quit medic completely...

CM's have been buggy since day 1. AOE heals didnt work the first month, poisons and disease were borked, ranged heals didnt work, and to this date AOE disease C's still dont work, our ranged E's have a typo requiring 13 of one component instead of 3 and our Advanced Resilience compund schematic just loads and loads and loads and loads and has done that since day one. Doctors....have always worked and still do compared to CM's. The other reason is CM's require these infinite amount of resources to make poisons, disease, ranged heals, regular stims and AOE stims and half of these, at least the to make our best products requires planet specific resources which on some servers havent even popped yet....gotta wonder why huh.

Well, i'm still going for Master CM, but i mastered bioengineering too, so that shows that i'm a masochist.

Things that make the CM not very appealing:

169 skillpoint investment to go to a new profession, doctors pay only 140 to improve upon medic stuff
you need surveying, because you won't get your ressources otherwise
you earn no money
poisons aren't very useful in PvE
class is ignored by devs

those are the things that come to my mind immedeatly, probably forgot a few, buti hope you get the picture.

Oh and ask Raph to answer this logic question below.

ham : cheese

bacon : eggs

star wars : _______

A. creatures

B. droids

Hijacking other threads when they're just looking for reasons behind why people aren't playing a particular class is not going to help our cause. It will only cause angst toward us. Please don't take it upon yourself to represent all of us DE's this way...

Thanks

I used to be a full combat medic/doctor.. Like a few other people, the reasons are really quite simple.

1) Enhances are to good to pass up. +1.5k health/action has saved my life more often than not. These allow me to go all out on focus/willpower/mind which can not be recovered and still play a decent roll in combat.

2) Rezz, with mind damage, there is nothing you can do as even the greated combat medic that will prevent a player from dieing. If they go down due to mind damage, only way to get them back up is Rezz.

3) Did not want Ranged Weapon Support abilities.. I wanted to be a Brawler class. That means I was required to waste 25+ points on a tree that would not benefit me at all.

4) Lack of grouping.. Why do you need ranged stims when most of the time you are healing yourself?

im a master combat medic and love it my mind poison c does almost 600 a tick to mind pool ae mind poison c seems to be a lot lower its about half but still good. i own in pvp my poisons dont get resisted very often and if they land the person is dead in like 2 sec. yea it takes a lot of resources but its not that hard to gather them i have tons of resources to make poisons/stims as for healing im healing just as well as a doctor if not better my ae stim c heals whole group to full at once. dont complain about resources everyone needs them just gather them and have fun combat medic is very fun in pvp i went to bestine last night to check a harvester killed 7 imps around the starport it took 2 at-st and a bunch of people to finly take me down was great fun

im also doctor almost master the buffs wil be great for keeping you alive while your poison works.

there are some bugs such as the area disease c i belive that you cant make and the mind disease c pack that has 745 med use on it. but overall its a good class.
