Thread: Stim B sale prices? (please read)
I must say, I haven't read all this mathematical formula stuff, I feel (1) each to their own, and (2) each server is different. I price off of my competitors on the market also. If Dell cuts prices, no mathematical formula is going to prevent Gateway from doing so also. Anyway, game pricing is more an art than a science I think.
That said, I make this comment in reference to my earlier posts where I was selling Adv. stim Bs for like 500 and regulars for 250, which most thought too low. FYI in two days after raising prices to 400 and 700 (1000 on Dantooine), they are still selling at the same rate and I'm still getting crate requests. I am on Shadowfire, note, where med prices are generally lower than normal.

I started selling my stims at 300, they went like hotcakes. Raised to 350.... still gone... raised to 400...still... I've settle about 450-500 per StimB since I'm making them faster now and I want them to sell. I don't sell crates, I just craft the things myself. They are only 300+/24+ stims, and I try to use all adv components with decent quality resources. Just found Liq Petrol class 4 today, and I've got some herb meat, so I'll start making Adv. Chem and see how much that boosts the product.
Now I know my prices are cheap compared to what others here are selling, but my stims aren't nearly as good either. When I hit Master (or last box in crafting) I'll take a closer look at quality vs. price, but this thread is a good start. Thanks!
For those of you who charge more, kudos to you. If the market on your server can bear it, go for it!

After all the number juggling, and discussion with other PA members, it seems like a flat pricing is the best way to go. Less book work. More consistency across vendors and merchants. Etc...
No resource is really that hard to get for me it seems. Getting them in volume is hard sometimes, but I am just now running 1000 runs of sub components to start mass producing some items. But our good stim Bs will go for right at 450 credits. Both in our mall (Ice Bay Mall on Naboo/Gorath) and in my shop (in the town of Ice Bay, Naboo/Gorath). So this way the few different people making various meds are never undercutting each other... and the cusotmers knwo what prices to expect each time they visit our town. and they are good prices.
Okay.. I'm on the kettemoor server, and let me say, herb meat is rare at the moment.. I'm getting some, but alot of it is poor quality.
I while back, someone posted the formula :
#crates * (Heal*Charge) / 12.771 + (.0858 * Med Use Req) ..
Now that my demand is great, and good meat scarce, I'm trying to find an easy guideline for pricing crates. When I use this method on my Stim Cs (Partially advanced Heal 444 Med Use 30 Charge 33 ) the pricing comes out to 954 a stim.. So I mark up 500, and can sell it for 1600 on baz, 1500 on my vendor. Crates would be like 1300 a stim or 65K.. too much?? or right on.. I'm wasting crafting points on bringing the med use down as opposed to putting it into charges or heal..
Stim B's advanced - 403 charge 40 I think.. runs about the same..
People are complaining about it being too high, but I'm tired of cranking out cratesthat get bought out in 2 seconds.. my stims that I stock on my vendor get sold within 24 hours every day..
I just realized I'm just ranting.... people will buy and people will undercut.. Stim C 407 charge 40 for 35K a crate.. sheesh..
Well Abumi, I am a Pistoleer and Scout also so that helps.
Here's a tip though....you can perform all harvester functions (depositing power, emptying hopper, etc...) while lying incapacitated next to it. ![]()
(I discovered this completely by accident).

If you just go by the resources to make an Advanced stim B then 1000cr is a little over 10cr per resource. Also factor in the factory maint, harv maint and power costs.

well, I DON'T use advanced components on stims. And I don't worry about the very best organics or inorganics. I make what I have work, and use all my experiments on them. But what i DO do is ensure that overall charges and effectiveness is decent. And then i charge much less for them.
Why?
If 2 of my Stim Bs at 450 each heals as much (often more) than a single stim B for 900, then you are not wasting a 900 credit shot to heal the smaller wounds. Less expensive and good charge/heal ratio ensure you dont have to worry about wasting a hit, and will have mroe hits available for the cost in the long run.
Even as a master doc myself, I only USE Stim Cs, and Wound Bs for almost all work. My skill kicks those up considerably over a non-doc. But I only keep a few Wound or Stim D/E on hand for real emergencies. it just isnt cost effective to load the very best stims at all times when you will burn through them quick in a real fight or hunt.
Sometimes quanitity and low cost IS better than quality.

That would make sense if there was no mind cost or delay for using stims, but since there is, those would be useless to a rifleman or novice medic trying to support anyone more than himself (ant even then he may take more damage than he is healing because of the delay involved)
Back to the original topic, I base my price on the local bazaar market price and no matter what the quality of my B (I use all 3 adv components when I have enough herb. meat) I never go below 1200. If there are none comparable on the baz, I'll post 5 or so at various prices to determine what the market will bear and price accordingly.
