If all else fails, stand in the middle of the crafting station and try.

Just one more piece of advice, do not put crafting stations too close to each other. I've tried to be "fancy" in the past by using my crafting stations as decorations. Bad idea! If they're too close to each or overlap each other, you're going to end up with screwy results when you try to craft.
