Thread: Good Job All You serious Doctors....
I don't agree with it, condone it, nor have I ever done it....however it makes sense to use a tumble monkey.
Using stims uses less mind....sure you don't get a lot of XP for it, but you could make almost the same amount of xp stimming people to death (or life)then you can healing thier wounds...waiting for your mind to heal....healing them.. etc.
I've never used a monkey before, I got MD the respectful way....by taking care of people. I have 0 respect for doctors (dedicated *now*or hologrinders) that use a monkey to get something the rest of us earn. Yeah using a monkey you "earn" it to, but you do not earn the respect from the players watching you that need help. I met soooo many great people on my 2 month hump to MD, and I still talk to most of them 5 months after I picked up my MD tag.
Hologrinders are trashing the economy of this game, and making all of the dedicated people (for example) to MD....*hated* by the public. Hated isn't the best word for it, but its all I can think of.
The general public gets treated like nothing by hologrinders, because they aren't there to help people....they are chasing a dream....and because those HG's are doing that the the public its giving the truely dedicated people to the different professions a hard time...and the HG's are giving the dedicated people a bad name. Its all SOE's fault to for there little Christmas "treat"....
Just my opinion, tringnot to be rude or mean, but sorry....its how I feel

First, my post was thanking you that do a good job for doing it.
Second, don't go to the Medical Center if your not going to heal wounds. It makes people believe you are "on duty." Heal tumble monkeys on the second floor or in the cantina. If that's the only kind of xp you want, stay away from those of us that are trying to play the game as it was intended.
Third, I'm aSmuggler and when I don't want to get bombarded with tells and such I turn it off. Period. I operate under the assumption when the tag is on me, I am working, and I don't begrudge anyone for telling me then. That being said, I don't turn the tag often unless I'm ready to work. It's really not anyone's fault that they tell you, I search for doctors all the time. If they say they can't do something, I understand.
4th, I'm a novice medic myself, I can't make secondary wound packs. I ended up healing myself with tendwound, and running to the cantina to heal up. If I would know I have to do that, I'd go to anchorhead, terrorist hang out that it is so I can do both easily.
5th, this guy was not some glorious doctor who's had people crap on him. He was a hologrinder who didn't care about his job, and you Doctors should be appalled by it. I am.
6th, I shouldn't have to shout out that I'm paying all the time, because I find it rude and pushy when people are waiting as well in the Med Center. If a doc tells me he's charging, then I pay without being upset, but the guy didn't talk to me at all.
7th, I've been out to the field with a bad Combat Medic and Doctor who hologrinded and it' ain't pretty.
And for the holo grinder that called me a noob, don't you have to go work on being a Pikemen, Image Designer or Chef. Get off the boards and go grind your professions.
Again, I appreciate all of you that do your jobs the way the game was intended. If anyone doesn't tip you, that is deplorable. I think that's terrible and if anyone on these boards doesn't tip, then I really think your names should be posted in game on the server so Doctors and Medics can learn not to heal you.
A few of the Doctors that posted seem to be getting the attitudes of their real life counterparts. That's kind of funny.
The thing about tumpling is...it can be done in the privacy of your own home.
I usually sneek a stim in on the tumbler, so it screws up the afk pattern for the healer and tumbler.
If the pair aren't afk, and they get pissed that I'm interrupting. I just /ignore them...
Yeah let the holo grinders keep their tumble monkeys.
I would advise people that are not holo grinders not ti use it.
I xp'd in cantinas as well as a medic in the field.
Only that will teach you to be valuable to groups on missions.
Because of that people want me around. Along with the fact I use the highest quality resource available to make quality meds.
I wasnt an in-the-field type of person I wanted to make things.
I did the medical centre thing. It was ungracious player after ungracious player with one or two nice ones thrown in.
I'd typically find the whole med centre atmosphere improves during a big GCW fight - the players in there actually care. You can get good XP out of healing wounds, but it's inconsistent.
You can make Enhance packs, but they're expensive.
Or you can turn out a crate of 50 30/320 stim-b and find a tumbler.
Or - find two, action buff them and have them wearing heavy encumbrance armour so they have 0 regeneration.
40k XP per hour. a few hours later I'm master doctor.
I want the title, I want the abilities. I'm months behind my friends that started playing long before I did. I dont care about hologrinders, or powergamers.
I set out to become a master doctor, I'm a master doctor, I will remain a master doctor. What do you care how I got there.
My general response to "i need healing" is "i need money".
But, I'm so rarely in a med centre these days.
For one, healing in the cantina doesn't work that well when you have an aspiring combat medic hitting everybody with area stims or 3 aspiring medics competing over heals.
For two, healing wounds/buffing/combat grouping isn't easy to do AFK. I'll get more XP healing a tumblerwhile I sleep than you will "playing the right way".
For three, stopcomplaining that other people don't"learn" your profession or play it the way you think it was intended. There's no hypocratic oath in this game that swears me to tend to the sick, and I didn't take up doctor to heal your wounds and be your support personnel. If you want something from me, make it worth my time. Otherwise I have no use for you and certainly won't waste time and resources on you.
Jasonk,
In a nutshell, you are what is wrong with this game. We are making an online community and everyone has a place. The fact that you don't care to be a part of it is sad, but don't make a comment to me like I'm the bad guy here. I don't play the game while I sleep. I actually socialize and do my job in the community which is slicing armor and making spices. I don't do it for free, and you shouldn't either, but you dont' have to use one resource on me to heal my wounds, you can use /tendwound. Woundpacks make it quicker on you, not me, and you can make some "Med Center" grade woundpacks while you are grinding the medical crafting xp. That's what the doctors/medics I know do. Grinding wound packs give xp just like good ones and you don't have to destroy it or set it to practice mode, you can put them to good use.
Do I expect doctors to heal my wounds, hell yes I do, just like in real life. If you are roleplaying a doctor I'd think that you'd have your own hypocratic oath and do the same. I have a medic on another server and I gladly go and heal wounds. I dont' always get great tips, but a lot of time I use lousy resources or just use tendwound, so I'm not out anything. You make good contacts in the med center, andyou can usually get offers to join guilds, hunting trips and the like. You shouldn't be bitter about healing people, because you picked a doctor to play for the love of god. Do I expect for you to drop everything and come do it for me, no, but if you are in the med center I assume you are working and you are there for XP or to heal people. I guess that's my bad, cause why would a doctor come to the med center to heal people. Stupid me, right Jason.
I do think that they should pay some sort of salary for the medical and entertainment personal for the amount of time you are in the med center or cantina, like a mission terminal, so that you get paid anyway, and tips are just a bonus. But that's a different story.
I am making fun of those of you using tumble monekys. I think you're lousy players. Period. But, hey if you want pay 15 bucksa month to have a game play itself, then knock yourself out. I could care less, other than me having zero respect for you as a player, and wishing that you had to wear a tag above your head that let's me know that you are a lousy hologrinding tumble monkey healer than a real doctor so I can look for someone else to count on in the field because you will suck because you don't know how to play if you can't set the game on autopilot.
The game was intended to be played a certain way by the developers. That includes going to the med center and hunting trips for your xp, and those down times are put in for players to develop the "community aspect of the game." Those of you short cutting it are finding loopholes and exploits. Does it get you leveled up quicker, absolutly, but that doesn't make it the "right" thing to do. Take your medicine and say "yes, I don't play the right way, but I appreciate those of you that do" or something simliar. Have some class about the fact you are taking a short cut, and admit that's what it is. Dont' gripe at me because I would like this to actually be like a Star Wars world, and not watching idiotic things like a guy flipping in a med center and some guy boosting him with stimpacks while what equates to guys with serious gun shots wounds look on unattended to. How stupid does that look, really, if you think about it. I know it's a game, but seriously,it's stupid looking. Y
You and your kind are terrible roleplayers, which last time I checked, this was a Massive Multiplayer Online ROLEPLAYING Game, which means no matter how fast you get leveled up, I'm still winning, and you're still losing. I personally can't wait till the next flavor of the month game comes along and all of you go away and exploit another game and leave the game to those of us that would like to roleplay and build something.
I hope you enjoy your hard earned doctor skills Jason, maybe you'll get your wish and the actual roleplaying gamers will go find a game you can't exploit..
