And what if buffs did exist? The empire wouldn't want people running around who are ten times tougher than stormtroopers. Buffs would be declared illegal and/or only be made available tostormtrooper units. Of course rebels would use them any chance they got

Personally i'd like to see both buffs and composite armour gone. Then pve would be more of a challenge and there'd be more creatures that people would need to fight in groups.

Plus overts/jedi wouldn't have to rush to a doc as soon as they log in, hoping to get buffed before they are killed.

I reread your other post...I was basing my arguments off of this first post.

I think the devs should have tested a character with full buffs, armor, foods, and loot enhanced weapons (all experimented with perfect materials and 12 points) against the toughest mobs in the game. If they'd have done that then buffs + armor wouldn't be a problem b/c high end content would take 4 or 5 fully buffed players. As it stands now they're uninventive about how mobs react. Personally I think the CB should make high end NPC's have the same skill sets as us and the same weapons. Picture genosians with BH pistols, M-pistoleer, and Rogue with 80% resists composite that can heal themselves (albeit a limited amount of time).

This, to me, would alleviate the boredom of high end content and would give a comparable challenge to a player. If the AI was good, you could have 4000 HAM mobs again and have them fight like people. I really really really really hope that something like this happens b/c it really is annoying to fight some 300k HAM monster who only has 300k HAM b/c the devs aren't inventive.

Oh, and buffs will never be self-applicable. That is kind of a tennant of the doc professions that to use high end stuff you've gotta get the skills. You might as well make doc/medic just crafters and allow everyone to use everything. Really though, buffs are what you get when you prepare...any long term fight will feature a lot of zerging.

Edit: I went and read some of your other posts....that really blowsthat you had a few docs who just up and left and you basically wasted your play time. I can definitely see why you'd want an enhance from a vendor...but like I said I really doubt that would ever change since medicine use isintegral with the medicine being applied. I would suggest either getting to know a few places that have buff bots, or get aCL10 pet...with it youshould be able to level a moderate amount (albeit not as much as with buffs).

There should be some buffbotson your server...I'd suggest checking out large guild cities, or even just ask on your trade forum...

This game has slowly evolved into one where buffs are more of a neccesity rather than a luxary. Without buffs, we would be confined to combat with gubbers and their likes. Imagine trying to master a combat profession on meatlumps. Eventending toharvestors can be a life or death situation at times. A while back, I read a forum post where a graul mauler spawnhappened to beright next toa towns shuttleport.

Unless gameplay is majorly revamped, buffs will have to remain abig part of this game. I guess all the devs can do is try and work on some sort of sytem where buffs are more realistic - we just have to wait and see what they can conjure up (and it better be bloody good coz it has been pushed back for long enough)
