Thread: Death of my most favorite profession
Unfortunately, in order to pick up BE 0004, you need to have Scout 0040. This is where it hurts me the most.

Actually, you can just pick up BE 0004 and save a lot of skill points in the process. The only question remaining is the usefulness of the new medical items.

Im still waiting for an answer from the BE correspondent on that question. Apparently the devs dont communicate if its intended as outlined in the original CU docs (MD dropping 1 line of medic + master and getting BE 0004 instead = same abilities for same skill points) or if they changed their mind and will leave scout as a prereq for BE. But its on the list of BE CU issues.

On paper, the "new Doc" should be right up my alley. However, I can't heal but once an eon, and somewhat low powered heals at that. I hope that these are bugs and not how it's supposed to be. I've already cancelled all my accounts, but I'm holding out hope that the CU *might* changed enough to be workable and that I can come back and be a useful as a doc. As it is now, Master Doc feels exactly like Medic 2222.

that is the most useful post i have seen since the CU debacle graced this forum's pages...I voted
yes i was a crafting doc, but only for myself and friends. Was lured back by the promise of new content, not the utter destruction of one of my characters chosen professions, but the untter contempt that the devs have shown to crafters in general and the relagation of Doctors in particular to worthless just is not worth my continued donation of $$ to devs who do not care, and eunuch correspondants *which after all these years is still a marketing gimmick*

I've been a master doc since August 2003. I am saddened by the changes. I want to be positive, but I just don't like what I am seeing. I was a Crafting AND Adventuring Doc. I truly enjoyed hunting down the best avian and best chems, flora etc... and getting XP along the way for my combat secondary profession and Jedi skill trees. This completely ruins the way I have always played. Some of you may have adventured with me, and 1000's of you have been buffed by me.
I am going to try my hardest to learn the new stuff, but my (literally) 100's of millions of creds in resources is all now down the drain and almost worthless. (Along with the 2.5 mill i spent on a De-10 for my pistoleer skills, that now does less damage than a lousy FWG5 I had lying around)
The system also told me I had to re-spec before I could even MOVE my character, so I respec just to drop a skill, thinking I can just re-spec again when I want to fully consider and make changes. Only to find out, NOPE, you get to re-spec once, and once only.
/sigh
