Really hope they nerf buffs.. that and armor has complety dumbed down the game.

As I've stated elsewhere, the issue is buffs making armor encumbrance irrelevant, and this has a profound impact on both PvE and PvP. New toons that have access to free buffs can do things that new players alone do not, and can rocket through combat professions because they simply don't suffer the downtime and they can take on higher level mobs with little fear of dying (and reap the XP at much higher rates in the process). I took a moncal toon (moncals are weak in the H and A areas) with marksman carbines II, some buffs, some novice medic skills, put him in good ubese, and there was little in the way of mid-level content on Naboo he could not easily defeat. Stuff that conned red to him. I should have had him take on fambaas and bolle bols, just for the heck of it. I'm sure he would have survived without any issues. He alone could take on things that back after launch you did not dare take on unless you were in a group or had a probot or critter pets to tank for you.

I don't believe it's rightto nerf buff and armor and make it so that someone that has been playing for a year is as strong/weak as someone that has just recentlypicked up the game.

Not likely everyone can afford the 500k armor, powerful weaponor the 10k buff so the benefits forthe experience players is someone that is stronger than an average joe.

From your perspective, you may think everyone is buying buff but believe me, there are a lot of players that aren't using buff or armor since they're financially unattainable.

Sure, if you had the money to buy buff, armor, weapons, then you can easily do the high paying missions. But for someone that doesn't have any of these things, those low paying 3k mission could takes 15-30 minutes to complete.

In trying to make the game harder for the elite players, you may end up making it nearly impossible for the majority of the players.

Money makes the world goes round and if a doc chooses to buff over healing, that's their perogative since they've invested their skill points to acquired those skills. If we're going to complain, then lets complain about how the armorsmiths are not making affordable bone armor, chitin, etc for the newer players instead of spending most of their time making 80%+ armor to sell for 400k-10mil. Or about the weaponsmiths that are not making affordable weapons but instead spending their time making weapons that only sell for 30K+.

Remember, not everyone became a doctor due to their atruistic belief. Most of them are in it for the money, and I'm not talking about the game, but about Real Life.

Who are we to force people to create/join a huntinggroup when playing the game.

btw: Has anyone tried doing the Corvettewith no buff and 20%?

Buff balances is just another way to said NERF! Probably a bit too way as everyone is used to being their own tank. They should have done the combat balance long time ago. People will be in for a shock when they actually have to group again

Thats if there are enough people left in the game to make groups, if this re balance fubars everything, expect to see alot of cancelled accounts.

I do not doubt that a lot of players will not very much enjoy the massive nerfage of their combat power that this will entail.

They laughed or were indifferent when CHs got this treatment back in December. Now they'll get to experience it, and it will not be pretty.

I have played several MMORPGs over the last several years. Every time a major "nerf" comes along, half the forum population predicts the financial ruin of the game publisher from a mass exodus of players....

I have not actually seen this happen yet on a major MMORPG. Sure, some will quit. Most will simply adjust to the changes and keep playing.

Just my opinion but look at it this way. If they do all the nerfing as predicted, Armor will be lowered, damage will be lowered, buffs will lowered etc. With me so far?

Now if all this happens, remove the buffing from the current scenario for second, people will now go out hunting with lower armor and lower damage correct? Thus they won't be able to tackle uber mobs etc, which is the way it should be. That said maybe soloing what used to be viable will no longer happen, but trying to solo what was a stretch 8 months ago will be the norm again. Now please tell me how buffs will be any less important if all this happens? Will you be able to solo a Krayt? Maybe not but buffs will still be needed so a group can solo a krayt. Buffs will be needed so people can do solo missions etc for a few hours at a time, will they be the kick ass solo missions you can get now? Beats me, but as I said what will make buffs any less useful if this happens, everything is proportional.

A buffed person in PvP versus a non buffed person should win everytime, again why would buffs be rendered useless?

Just my thought and ramblings.

Well, if they fix the combat balance, buffs will still work, just will get eaten up faster than they currently do. Yo'ure still going to need them. The thing is, non elite characters, slogging away, trying to get somewhere get killed with or without buffs, as do alot of other people, right now. I know i do, only because of my mind going constantly. They can't nerf H and A, then let entertainers still buff mind.

I can't believe any of you actually think something will get fixed lol. Hmmmmmmm...........lemee see.................Oh ya. Balance has been an issue since LAUNCH!!!!!! It's there term for the "NERF BAT". They will destrpy everything that is in the game. Balance will now be shifted from one profession to the next like it always has.

Excelon, I cannot disagree with you on this.

Why hasn't the Imperial cap been fixed for males?

Because the devs can't figure out what to nerf in order to make it wearable.

Nerfing is all they know about.

The game is too easy as it is. I remember the first time a group took down a Krayt shortly after launch. There were 30 people, and all but I think 6 were killed at least once. They had 6 Doc/Medics running around healing. When they came back into town armed with Screenies, it was an *Event*! THey worked really hard to kill that thing. Now, people are solo'ing them in sequence. Things like this should be comopletely unattinable to anything but large *organized* groups (Squad Leader anyone?). If you dont wanna group, you wont fight them any more. Big deal. THere will still be lots of tough things people can solo and brag about. Every character in the game should NOT be able to kill everything in the game.

Doc Buff nerfs are needed to help bring the challenge back to the game. People will get mad. The biggest whiners will quit. The rest will adapt and carry on.

Before I buff anyone i'll heal there wounds first.i dislike hunting in groups so what your saying is that when they nurff this it's to make everyone go back to hunting in groups. why not fix the lag before they start nurffing anything.anyway it took alot of time and work to make master doc. if they mess with it whats the point on spending hours crafting?

my point is this FIX THE LAG FIRST!!!!! THEN COME TLAK TO US ABOUT NURFFING BUFFS!

In my opinion, buffs are simply too powerful at the moment. I do not see any action here as a nerf. I see this as a due correction.

I would:
- Reduce the highest levels of buffs (and a hard cap on experimentation)
- Reduce the effectiveness of secondary buffs (which are extremely too powerful)
- Maintain the duration of all buffs

I would like to see buff-A's and B's become useful. In fact, I'd like to see the same buff spread out of each, with the differentiation being duration and number of charges.

Might I point out that the team that works on the physical aspect of the servers [and even beyond that in server performance and server connectivity] is completely seperate from the team that works on in-game content and balance issues. So... your point, while decent enough, is invalid.
