Well good, no reason why you should be able to master another elite profession and have a vendor. Let the true merchants do their job.





the funny thing is that only people with 2 or more accounts ask for the "true merchant".

I would like to say something to all you people who are telling us docs to stop crying because we wont be able to have vendors. When we start selling buffs for 30k each because there arent that many docs anymore you better not start complaining.

I used to have one account and I was a merchant, only dropped the skills when I dropped my crafting profession with that character, and I dropped my vendor the same day... Picked up merchant as I got the current one.

Lets just say for arguments sake, you buy a vendor from a merchant or lease one out, and he/she decides to drop the skill ? You have to go look for another one and then transfer all you stuff into the new one and hope they dont drop the skill ?

Lending a vendor won't happen... merchants are not crafters.

I think the number of venders will drop dramatically, the ability to find what you want will be reduced, and the trade forums will have hundreds of posts a day. The barter system will become a common practice. Problem is you can only trade with someone when they are on-line, it will be a pain. Oh, and the person selling won't be paying that 10% or whatever the merchants will charge, the customer will. That 100k crate of buffs will now cost you 110K.

I have been playing since day 2. I still have zero combat exp, zero factions.

I am master artisan, master chef, master merchant, and entertainer.

I cant kill a nuna, nor ever try, but i run fast. (*bikes really helped*).


I sell some food items to others at a 'wholesale' price, they sell on their vendors.

I purchase some items (drugs, meds) at a wholesale price, sell on my vendors.


As a master merchant, I get a maximum of 6 vendors, reduced fees on advertising and reduced fees on my harvesters.


Currently, merchant is a joke, and I hope the changes happen soon. Can a Pistoleer that dropped the skill still use his DX-2? NO, so why keep merchant skills once it has been dropped?


We are not supposed to be a self sufficient individual, the game is designed to rely on others. If you do not like purchasing game items, then, get a second account. The cost is minimal compared to most other forms of entertainment (consider DATING). How many months of SWG could you purchase if you just skipped ONE date?

Im gonna have enough skill points to Master Doctor get Business 3 and get most of a Combat Profession, with three boxes left over. Get over it and if you want a vendor sacrifice some of your combat skills OR have someone else run a vendor for you...its simple.

The reason SOE gives people only 1 character per server on SWG is because they know people will buy alts. They're farming the players. I personally know someone with 11 accounts.

Damn right.


This is exactly how I feel about it. No vendors, ok, we'll make our money buffing, and by selling it at 3x the rate.

Maybe if they gave Masters a single Business III like vendor, unregistered that we could place. Then have a merchant upgrade it to be on the map ect...Set it up like the ID interface, agree on a price, if its a weekly thing, monthly, percentage ect... then we go from there.

So i'm a master Doctor + master Architect.I don't sell buffs,i have business 4..i should be o-k with this change because i have 1 vendor,i did not know about it before on being able to go novice and put down another vendor and quit it...so i'm o-k with it right? WRONG!I have 1 vendor FULL of Wedding food and junk i don't want to mess with anymore.I JUST started on the profession Architect and i'm wanting to have a merchant tent and2vendors,problem is that i CANNOT find a Merchant! And i gotta start my business soon because every type of storage i have is full at 100%,bank,Hospital,backpack,invortory (well invortory has 98% as i can buy a ticket in and out of planets) and most of the junk thats crowding my invortory is my architect supplies,So i cannot afford Skill Points for novice merchant and 0/0/0/1, and i cannot find a merchant..so i'm stuck. So will a TON of other people,My friend has a merchant tent with3 vendors..so what this nerf will destroy his vendors and his load of stuff in the vendors in it? oh and i rather not rely on someone that could steal my stuff easy..because i need a vendor...OH! never thought about that? what if you was selling something for 1 million credits,something VERY rare,you offer to vendor,s/he buys,never puts it in the vendor..oh and whos money is all this money going to? if you sell something you can't really tell because s/he gets the emails.and s/he haved to tip you back the money right? ...Gee Very NICE system SOE! And for the "oh since we can't have vendors and theirs less docs lets charge 3x on buffs" i go with that! if i can't have another vendor or 2 i'll haved to quit architect. whitch i DONOT want to do. i may have missed somthing here..but if thats the system...thats sure to be on a complain ticket.
