i always targeted something in my house (in my case, a strangely named backback). That object could not be buffed and thus only error messages to the fact would appear.
Never had the problem with it buffing myself with this in.

This is the best way to avoid buffing yourself in a buffhouse macro. "/tar [object name]"

ok i wanna set up a buff bot for my guildies, i have the macro and everything. all i need to know is when not buffing anyone and the macros still running, will it repeatadly buff me? if so how do i fix this.

Yup. And if no one is targeted, you'll buff yourself. No way around this that I'm aware of ATM.

You can add /target object at the end to stop the bufffing spams.
For instance in spaceports, /target ticket to target the ticket machine. In other place you can target say a chair, anything not living or not of your faction works.

try hunting aboss sometime, then do it buffed and tell me if you notice a difference. i notice when my buffs wear off cause i start takeing damage and my attack speed drops. plus why are you doc (or posting in doc) if you find the perfession so useless, cause that mainly what doc does, we buff.
