Bank Tip!
I will accept a regular tip if it is just a couple of people. Bank tips just help you keep your "stuff" straight.

I don't tend to do the line method at all. Part of my shout includes something along the lines of "First person to bank tip me 12k gets their buff first!" Usually people form a line by default, and that's fine. I don't really care. I just go through the e-mails and buff them as they are in order.
Sometimes someone does a regular tip, and if they are the only customer that is totally fine. But if I have list of 5 people that sent me a bank tip the regular tip is kind of annoying. Luckily customers don't know what order the e-mails come in at, so I often times buff the person that did a regular tip first, just to get them out of the way. I don't publicize that fact though, heh heh
But personally I prefer bank tip. I have had several people claim to tip me regular when they did in fact not tip me. With a banktip you can KNOW that you got the money.

When I buff with my doc I accept both bank and normal tips. I made a window that is just system messages, it allows me to see my normal tips without the clutter of the spatial window. This also shows your buff messages.
I also do not accept pre-payments unless the person is next or 2nd to next and tells me they have to go afk for whatever reason, all other pre-payments are considered mine.

If I notice a payment, I buff. I don't think it is very ethical to keep someones money because they were confused and tipped at the wrong time...
Although it is a good idea to do a seperate window for system messages, perhaps I'll do that. Although normally I don't do a buffline on purpose, I just wear my master doc title, and someone asks me for a buff, and while I am buffing them a line forms. So my bufflines are fairly non-strict. Usually I leave once the line is empty. It's dangerous to go to coronet though, took me 2 hours to finish my line, heh heh

I prefer bank tips and also prefer if the person waits until it is their turn to get buffed. I don't buff unlees tipped though, as I've had people leave without tipping and have had some idiot bank tip me 1000 credits 12 times
But if someone breaks the rules and tips before hand or regular tips I don't really mind, it's just easier if they bank tip because I don't have to look for the system message.

To me, credits are credits, so the exact form of payment doesn't really matter.
If I'm somewhere busy, however (lots of spam or spatial chat), then a bank tip sure helps keep track of things. Scrolling up through chat text to see if you were actually tipped is bad for the doc (because it's a pain), and it's bad for customers who are waiting. The bank tip email solves quite a few problems. In low-traffic areas, a normal tip is fine.
One other benefit of the bank tip - a record of the customer's names... I was rezzing/healing/buffing during a Sith raid on the village, and got a few very large bank tips from appreciative customers. The email will make it easier for me to add them to my friends list, and make sure that they get good service next time I see them.

I take bank tips or regular tips. Tip me before during or after the buffs. I only ask that the line start in front of me not to the side or behind me.
