Thread: Devs: Either return XP for healing pets or stop personel Stims from working on pets
HEAL, duh.
If you dont want to 'waste' your stims on a pet, don't. I for one love being able to keep only 1 or 2 pets healed and not have to worry trying to run around healing the other 7 people or whatever in my group. The point of hunting once you finish grinding out proffesions is to get 1 of 2 things:
1.) Money for completeing the misssion
or
2.) Drops off the MOBs
Wake up and realize we all had to grind to Master too.

See I think you are looking at this wrong.You see this from a point of view of someone skilling up and sees pets as a drain of your resources. Its not really the whole picture.
From a master doc/cm I'll tell you I heal pets all the time, why?.... bc i dont get xp for healing other players so will i stop healing them? If a pets in my grp and is taking alot of damage, thats damage one of the other players would have to absorb, possibilly killing that player. Pets have saved my grp alot of times, and its then i realized a healthy pet defending you is better then an incapped pet and a dead doctor.
So whats the root of your problem. Seems like people are annoying you. Its cool it happens to all of us. Would you like some ways to deal with it. When i couldnt afford to spend stims on pets and i was getting annoyed at the CH, just ask him to heal them hisself. They are his resposiblity, they are his "guns" so to speak. Be funny about it, tell him you have a great deal or saw a great deal on stims in the bazaar. Or be straight up. Tell him if he would like to pay you for all the stims you use on his pet cool, other wise you just cant do it.
I aggree with not getting xp from pet healing. the Medical professions are hands down the easiest class to master in the game. The only thing slowing you down is having to train ( if I had a master doctor on my raids to train me i could have been master in 2 days). Noone wants their class to be trivalized. I don't.

IfI am in a hunting party as the healer it's my JOB to heal the members. If all you wantis experience, then I suggest you sit in a cantina or med center where lives aren't at stake because you refuse to heal a group member solely because it's a pet and you won't gain experience.
If you are hunting and that pet is saving the lives of not only you, but the other members of your group (by taking damage from THEM tanking), then they dang well deserve to be healed just as any other member of the group does, human or not.
Let me repeat. IF the ONLY reason you heal anything or anybody is for the experience alone, you shouldn't be in a hunting group, you should remain in town healing wounds and action.

BS. I'm a doctor, not a vet. I didn't get doctor to heal pets. It's the job of the CH to keep their pets alive as far as I'm concerned.
I do heal pets, for all the reasons mentioned in this thread. Mostly because they are often needed and CH's, with few exceptions, just don't ever seem to have the tools to take care of their pets. But I don't have to like it. Frankly the original post is more a dig at pets in SWG more than XP I think. Nobody needs XP after a certain point and it's pretty quick regardless.
Who gives a crap about medical EXP ?
It takes one day MAX to grind from novice medic to Master Doc .... youd have to be almost dunce to find that a chalange .....
and Asking the dev's to NERF doctors from healing pets would basicaly Ruin the game for ALOT of people ........ Get a Brain Knocky ..... and stop wasting time with worthless plee's to the Dev's when there's actualy REAL problems that need attention RIGHT NOW with regard to doc's
XP or no XP, ifa Doctor/CH can't use his/her crafted stims to heal his/her own pets, that would be lame beyond imagination.
Im with you Shoi, I remember those days. All these people saying how they grinded out novice to master in one day sort of make me sad. In the ealy days when there where no good resources to make meds with, no mass production of meds for sell, or Higher level people to train you, it would take you all day to get one or two blocks. The days when people got mad when you asked for tips, when buffs where lust a pipe dream. When you where happy to heal your first 100, 500, 1k in one aplication of your brand new wound pack. My favorite was that week when players got no damge even if they where not cloned, /shiver I call that hell week. /sigh
As far as healing other peoples pets. The Ch should do it between fights and you should only have to do itinan emergency only. It is their resposibility to heal their pet. After all part of your cut is going into replacing the meds used to heal their pet. If this becomes more that a once in a whilehabbit ask formed costsfrom the ch for the heals. And always remember you always have the upper hand in negotiations when the CH is lieing dead on the ground asking for a rez. That is always the best time to say "About the cost of my meds.".
Why? people pay me tons of cash to heal their pets. I tell them pay me first and then I go to it - takes me no time at all. Leave it, I like this a lotbetter than someone damaging their pet for healing XP.
If these playerdon't want to buy a pet stim for 800-2000 creds, what do I care. They want to pay me 5k instead for me to do afew hits off of one of my stim D's on their pet - I'm all for it!!
