Thread: The Official Are you Doing Buffs Thread
I get plenty of tells when I have my MD tag up. I actually like it, except when loading-- and then it's my fault for leaving the tag on when I logged.
Buffs are in high demand just about everywhere, so I only put my title up when I am ready to buff. The bonus is that I have never had to spam or yell to sell buffs. When I need to make some cash, I can just park it in my favorite spot, pull the droid, and throw the title up. The community does the rest!
I've gonefor long periods without having MD up. It's kind of funny when I am out huntingwith a group of people that don't know me, and they're all saying "Whoa! Where did you get that stim!?" after an insta-heal, or when you casually walk up to someone's corpse and res them after they just got done cussing up a storm in groupchat. ![]()

It is hard...when you get several /tell at the same time... /r only goes to the last person who sent the message...Thats my point...I get hammered the second I log in...can't wait to be a master ![]()

I am not sure what to say to this post i am kind of offended by it.
Doc buffs make my life as a hunter easy. I gladly pay 10k for buffs. I try to be as respectfull as i can to all docs but i do send a tell .."are you buffing" ...i usually get back a "yes and loc" or a "no".
I understand thier is alot of demand and that can be a hastle but think of all the money you can make. even if you only buff 800- 1500 I will still take that and be awed of the docs power. I was nto aware that being a doc was a boys club where you gang up on all of us dopes that want and value your services.
I will admit that i have no clue how much your resources cost for buffs but it seems that 6k- 10k is the average. I know I and many of my fellow combat proffesions desire doc buffs and activly seek them out. We pay what is asked and simply would like more docs to be available to take care of the needs of the comabt professions. some docs spam amount and what they expect from us while the are buffing maybe that would be a better way to educate us on what you want us to do to get those precious buffs only you can dish out.

Here is some kind of explanations:
10k and "all the money I can make" is not worth it. I'm master doc, and also a hunter. I don't care about the xp, but I can make more money and I can make resources (aka meat...usefull for me, or for sell and make more money) by doing missions. It's more fun do hunt with my mates than buff strangers. Somes are kind, but most are not ("are you buffing" - "so what's the anwser????" - "are you buffing or not?" in less than 20 seconds, not letting me the time to answer if I'm hunting or have friend's tell).
Maybe 800-1500 is fine for you, most don't agree => discussion, time loss
I charge more than 10k, some don't agree...rince and repeat. My prices are not negociable, like as said before: I can do more money in the same time and have more fun...and they can do a lot more money too while they're buff.
If I buff ppl, I've to restock components sooner. Good quality has a price. You can go there for an idea: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=ranger&message.id=27962
Weighted Avg. of 950: 35.00cpu and you must find a scout/ranger to provide you a good amount before the next shift, assuming it's just for avian/herbivore meat. You'll still have to put down harvesters (I don't have artisan, I need to ask someone else and I'm not in a guild)
Some ppl are kind, maybe you're one of them...but most of time "buff time" is a pain for me.

Let me first say that you are an exception to the rule. And trust me Doctors do appreciate the respect that you treat them. Resources for buff packs are the problem. A finished enhance pack needs 3 different sub-components. And most Master Doctors will use nothing but advanced sub-components.
Advanced Bio Effect Controler - Lokian Wild Wheat and Tatooine Fiberplast
Advanced Chemical Release Duration Mechanism - Herbivore Meat and Liquid Petro Class 4 Fuel
Advanced Solid Delivery Shell - Dolovite Iron and Domestic Oats
Final Pack - Avian Meat and Reactive Gas
The Liquid Petro Class 4 (LP4) is rare and the Dolovite is very rare. Several Doctors don't have large stores of these resources and therefore may only buff guildmates.
Here's the problem I have. I was at the Tusken Fort with some friends, I was healing and rezzing mainly. I had someone ask for buffs, so I told them 10K and got out my droid. Another Combatant there said that I was charging WAY too much. They claimed to have Master Doctor as their Alt character and they never charge more than 3K for high level buffs.
However I don't buff sometimes becuase I hate to try to explain myself if I accidently hit a low buff. Plus with the shuttle time sink, I won't buff if it'll cause me to miss a shuttle. People ask for buffs all the time and then want me to travel to them to do the buffs. You also need to figure in how many Master Doctors are you asking that took up Doctor just to buff themselves for combat.

As far as the 'rude' peeps, well i believe that they are newbs anyway and are very welcome to my 'ignore' list. What i suggest is to have a reply macro for:
Where are you?
How much do u charge?
Are they any good? (my reply is to add them to ignore list
)
Will u come out to where I am to buff me?
That last one should be a no brainer to peeps, hehe you want me to travel like avacuum salesman out to buff u just because you'll pay me 4 times the amount i charge? I personally wont even stand up from where i am when i sell buffs, hehe, if a customer wants my services they will have to come sit in front of me.
In closing, the doc profession is a admired job that commands respect as is in real life. Doctors provide a great service in providing buffs because it makes the gameplay so much more enjoyable when you can tank that lair and make 10 times as much credits than you could if not buff'd. So, yes i enjoy your patronage and yes i appreciate your politeness when requesting my services.
