I had a similar issue and my droid did eventually run out of power and it still read 75%.

I found out becuase I was trying to do something and kept getting a "You need to be in a hospital to do that" message.

Now I just recharge the droid about once a week and don't have to worry about it.

I have not noticed any different behavior for my barker than what has been said here and I don't use it that often.

Batteries are really cheap, so one a week is no big deal.
