i was a Doc/Fencer... was great... Im now trying Doc/Pikeman... i know noone really likes pikeman for PvP. but i have a feeling that everyone else is silly. I think for support... Pike could be pretty cool... i just stand there wailing on people, area kd/dizzy take damage, heald damage/states as needed, and being in the heat of the battle better for healing others states and such... ill post back with my findings hehe

master doc is the best pvp SUPPORT profession. it cures all states, and b/c of the new patch they are now the "anti-CM" solution in pvp. IMO, here's the low down on what other profs to use:

Master Swords w/ Scout 1-0-0-0: this is the best combo for PvE. I had this temp for a couple months and it served me well. To get into PvP w/ this prof, however, it can become difficult b/c of the lack of ranged and secondary defenses. IMO, to be effective as a master swords you need to stack up some def. w/ SEA's and some Fencer 4-4-4-0, nov. medic, and Scout 4-0-0-0 in case u end up fighting in hilly areas. You would hafta drop Doc of course. It's more or less a MUST to max out your 2H speed and acc. to become a true Swords PvP player.

Master TKA: TKA is basically a good balance for everything. It's decent in both PvP and PvE. It's only current drawback is it's limit on damage types (i.e. kinetic only). There are a couple mobs out there that are 100% kinetic resist (e.g. Mokk rockshaper). The razor knuckler was supposed to help w/ this issue, but who knows when the devs will release it (most likely in combat rebalance) However, TKA has a LOT of nice attributes such as meditation, power boost, force of will, an effective KD, and melee toughness at 57%. VK's aren't really required for PvE, but can be necessary in PvP when ur up against someone w/ 90% composite. It's important to have high mind stats as well, b/c even if you're unarmed, the rate of your attacks can deplete your mind quickly. A visit to your local musician, some canape, and/or some brandy can remedy this issue. As w/ most (if not all) melee profs, it's important to get some terrain neg. if you think you'll encounter a lot of ranged profs in PvP.

Master Fencer: This is more effective in PvP if this is the only combat prof you'll have. It can slap various states on your opponent (i.e. blind, dizzy, health bleed). You have the infamous stun baton at your side, which can be effective in both PvP and PvE. Acklay stun batons are even better w/ the insane damage you can inflict on your stun vulnerable opponents. It has both ranged and melee def, and a nice set of secondary defs as well. It is not as effective in PvE, so don't expect to get looting rights from something like the Acklay if the other person is pounding away w/ a scythe. Solo, however, it does a decent job, but like TKA it can be a lil taxing on your mind stats.

I haven't had a combo of any ranged prof w/ doc, but i would imagine that there are similar advantages as well. out of all of them, I have the most fun with Swords. I will forever be a Swordsman even if they nerfed our bleeds to nothing. As such, doc wasn't as profitable as I had hoped it would be, so I dropped doc to pursue an alternative business. As a result, however, I can be a little more effective in PvP if need be. My temp atm is Master Swords, Scout 2-0-4-0, Fencer 4-4-4-0, medic 1-1-4-0, and artisan 0-0-0-4. I may be forced, however, to get some merchant if the merchant nerf screws me over.

Good luck with deciding what you wanna do.

MD/TKM is the one I have had for about 8 months now, I personally love it, it is stronger in PvE than PvP though, only cause of the range issue. If you are running around healing people, it's hard to get up close and personal with the enemy in PvP so you can attack them.

I have seen many TKA/Docs, I am not a PvP but I am a 0404 swords and master doc with merchant skills and I can hold my own in PvE.

The thing about swords is it can get expensive, same with fencer, aklay bones are not cheap for good ones. TKA you only need a good slice for one weapon, TKA stinks cuz its only one type of damage, it could take you awhile to kill some people or some things with high resist to kinetic.

I wish I didnt have to keep my merchant skills, I would love to master swords and see what else I could have with it!

I would have to pitch Doc/Swordsman. For PvE it owns Rifle or Fencer. Get speed-capped and find a good Acklay PH and you'll do fine in PvP as well. I've stood toe-to-toe with def stackers and just wailed on their heads while curing states as necessary.

Rifleman

Docs need to stand back on raids, Rifleman can do great damage from long range, so its a no brainer to go doc/rifleman, you can fight off CMs any damage besides mind damage, Doc/RIfleman is a very powerful template

I've done both Swords and Fencing. Agree with above poster - Swords for PVE and Fencer for PVP

I disagree w/ the Fencer thing, lets just saythe best stun baton on the server can't deal damage when it's weilder is stunned and intimidated... and it's so much of a hassle to keep healing those if you're doc.... We did a test, my friend was wearing stormtrooper armor and no PSG or food, and he stunned and intimidated me and I whacked away at him and did next to no damage... and lets also just say that I've incapped people in 2 hits with it while fully buffed. I say Master swordsman, if you must keep master Doctor. Because I can(and most everyone else)tank a Fencer doc all day, whereas a Swordsman I cannot. And Fencers are the suck for PvE no matter what anyone tells you. Consider this: you only get light armor piercing with one weapon, the Vibro Blade, and they don't get much higher than 150 max damage, with a terrible min damage. Swordsmen get medium armor piercing with 2 damage types, Blast and Kinetic. The only MOB in the game that cannot be hurt by this profession are the Spiderclan Spelldancers... in the Spiderclan cave on Dathomir...where it only spawns 3 in the entire cave. Also, you get the Medium armor piercing thing which makes a colossal difference on Medium AP MOBs...so, in my mind it's always been clear that Swordsmen own PVE and PVP for the few occasions you may decide to do so.

bottom line:swordsman takes the cake, and if you need any more reasons, I can list them.

Hey, what do you guys think the best template for a PvP/PvE (more leaned toward PvP) player that includes Master Doc? I have seen several good templates, but I was curious to see what you guys thought were the best.

Thanks in advance,

If you plan on PVP'ing seriously, do not go 2 hand. Right now IMO, Rifle + Doc would be the best combo for you.
