Thread: Surgical Droids?

Acinonyx -- I'm a master DE as well, but didn't think these droids ACTUALLY heal others. Are you sure about that? It's supposedly fixed on the TC but currently I don't think the droid itself is capable of healing anyone.

I need to clarify my post on healing issues. I never mentioned a droid automatically healing others. I only stated the Medical Module rating is applied as some sort of modifier to your skill with a higher rating obviously being superior.

I also never mentioned medicines were required. Only that healing using acertain level of medicine is adjusted based on the difficulty of the medicine to create/use.

To my knowledge, no droid is capable of healing without user interaction. Whether this be the owner or a person in the immediate proximity of the droid is unknown as I did not test this.

I hope this clears up the matter.

Addendum to previous post: Unless you own the droid in question you cannot utilize the Medical Modules. The owner is the only one able to use them. Tested and Failed.

This does not apply to Crafting Stations.

Just being in the immediate area (or Sphere of Influence, if you will) of the droid with such a module installed allows you to gain the benefit of a Personal Crafting Station. Tested and Passed.

1. Do you have to have any Medical or Doctor type skills to use them, or can anyone use them?

Novice Medic

2. How many mods can you stick in one?

IT does not matter if you stick two Modules in it only one will work of the same type. Says so right on the module it self. Food and Chem Crafting station with a Level 1-5 Medical module is a wonderful combo. I Sell them for like 35k a piece. They sell nicely on syclla.

3. Do they heal all wounds expect the ones under "mind" pools? (str and quick)

IT allows the player to heal anything like being in a Camp, House, Medical Center

4. Anyone selling them on Ahazi?

Not sure

5. Can you have them heal others?

Acinonyx, you said in your post above

Q. Do they heal wounds?
A. Yes. They can heal all wounds except Mind. Anywhere except a Cantina.

and

Q. Can you have them heal others?
A. Yes. I will go so far as to even say other can utilize the Crafting Station as well. I am unsure of whether or not a person in close proximinity to your droid will gain the benefits of using the Medical Module, but will test this as well today.

I did not think this was true, and the rest of your posts to this thread still do not clear it up.

To make it clearer: Can surgical droids actually heal damage or wounds at the command of the owner without the use of stimpacks or woundpacks, and what functions of a surgical droid requires a medical module to utilize?

I had thought that they were like any other droid with a medical module. They allowed the owner to use their stimpacks to greater effect (supposedly) and allowed the owner to heal wounds outside of a hospital or a camp (except for in a cantina).

Surgical droids have NO inherent ability - it's all due to the installed modules.

Medical modules allow MEDICS to heal wounds outside camps - and out of doors. They need whatever medical abilities/supplies they normally do.

A crafting station in a droid will be used by nearby people who don't own it if they are sufficiently close to it, whether they want to or not. I have caused, and been affected by, this bug. As for whether nearby medics will gain the wound healing ability I do not think so (I vaguely recall testing this but it was a long time ago).

It may need a droid battery. Get one and install it.

Do Surgical Droids work? If so, how exactly do they work?

Right now the surgical droid is just a frame. It has no inherent capabilities. A droid medical module can be placed in it, just like most other droids.

See the sticky threads at the top of this board for more information.

Okay, but aren't they supposed to heal you? Or heal your wounds? I haven't seen anything to the effect of 'fix surgical droids' or 'we are looking to fix surgical droids' in any of the stickied posts.

who said they were supposed to heal you? If the droid engineer who sold you the surgical droid said that he was lying. Their current capability is listed in the stickies on the top of this board. There have been various people asking for some auto-healing capability in various wishlists, but we don't know if they were ever "supposed to" heal you.
