Thread: The most rediculouse Avain meat auction I've ever seen

I agree.

That price is nothing. If that's 15,400 for just the health pack, that's only 513 per charge if you get 30 charges. So even if you use this meat for the Action buff, you're looking at a total cost per buff of 2,530. Now, you don't want topay that much (along with the cost of all the other resources) if you're going to be buffing the public for 10K a pop. But there's nothing wrong with that price if you're crafting to sell to PvP'ers, or to buff yourself and your guild.

To say that price 'is nothing' is silly posturing. All the complaints on this forum have beenpricing forbuffing to the public - not custom buffs you sell at the high end to people like Janta blood packs. Are people complaining about the cost of Janta blood buffs??? - no,because it doesn't effect the majority of the player base and Janta is considered a premium item.
Although I do support paying Rangers and hunters well for meat (especially Avian because its a royal pain to harvest), this is more of excerise of who had the bigger e-johnson and not what is a fair price. The problem is,these types of events have a trickle down effect and will now raise the base level of Avian pricing, which will raise the cost of buff packs, which raises the costs of public buffing prices, which leads to more angry pricing threads.
Really, anyone buffing the public has no business using meat this good. Resources of this quality are generally irreplaceable. BrJLa is exactly right, that price is nothing. It it were on my server, it would be significantly higher, because there is more than one doctor that understands the value of avian meat that good.
Further, prices for high-end items (in any field) have absolutely nothing to do with prices for standard items. The rise in in-shift avian meat prices has quite a bit more to do with increased competition for hunters -- from chefs and BEs especially -- than it does with the prices fetched by old and rare spawns.
If you aren't selling enhance packs, there is really no reason to participate in (or worry about) the auctions like this on the boards. There is almost alwaysa lesser meat that can be had for well under 100 cpu, and in-shift prices haven't changed much in the last few months...
(edit) Also, that auction is for a really small amount of meat, which helps to inflate the price... 10k is barely enough to bother making a run of packs with...

Shwoo...Talk about a strong opinion. Silly posturing? I didn't just say it was nothing, and leave it at that. I actually pointed out a logical reason why I think the price is reasonable. The only posturing I did is in trying to sound populist by saying you wouldn't use it to buff the public. Why wouldn't you?
It was 10Kof meat. Enough for 65 packs, or more. At 30 charges a pack, at 10K a buff, that's 20 million credits. Why not spend 5.5 million on meat, to make 20 million credits? And given that you can turn that meat into buffs that will hit for over 2500 for 3.5 hours or more, I wouldn't be shy about charging 15K a buff, which would bring you 30 million.
Even if you just sell the packs at 30K each, you'd still make 12 million.
And even if, as you say, "All the complaints on this forum have beenpricing forbuffing to the public," so what? A "reasonable price" is not determined by what YOU would do with it. It's determined by what everyone else who might be interested in it would do with it. I, personally, would turn it into packs that I'd try to sell at 40K each. I'd only need to buy about another 1 million of resources I don't already have on hand. So I'd have to spend a total of 6.5 million, to make 15.6 million back. This is not unreasonable. Or posturing. Or an e-johnson contest.

NOTHING?????
500+cpu is NOTHING?
Hmm, lets see, he bought 10k of avian for 550cpu = 5,500,000.
Wooo. He probably makes that in a day, if not 4x that.
I helped my friend run 1,000 sets of the best buffs Bria ever has seen.
He spent roughly:
200,000 herb @ 75cpu = 15,000,000
and
150,000 avian @ 250cpu = 37,500,000
Then he sold out 1,000 sets @ 180k a set = 180,000,000
I can't believe doctors complain about prices.
Our meat was only 937/973/600ish, I'd have paid 1000cpu for the stuff in that auction.

Just because you can make that much does not mean you will buff all day for how many hours? good greif if i buffed all day like that i'd need to go to therpy just for stress releif.
Nope, sold the sets on a vendor.
The hardest part was loading them onto it ![]()
