how bout all the docs that are buffin for free do it in the newb cities of tat - they get their xp, and the newbs get their free buff. win/win
cool idea
The majoritywont buff for free way out there when they can do it inside the village and save themselves the 10km ride back and forth with waiting for shuttles and such.
which is why people that want to charge, want todo it in the village too. It sucks hardcorecapping after 10 mins and having to travel to turn it in constantly.
so either side, free or not, neither want to leave the confides of the village. I feel for those who cant afford to buff for free, cuz the ones that are buffing for free, are taking all the buffee's in thier own line and yetthe ones that are chargingstill have to charge just enought to cover whatthey have to keep spending in packs and barely get any customers.
It would take the free buffers to at least charge the same as the ones that cant afford to do it for free, to be able to come to a fair compromise.
Im not trying to tell anyone what to do, but common courtesy IMO would be to share the xp with other docs around you, instead of being greedy,by making it more likely they will get some customers in thier lines too, by charging what the others around you are charging.

Vegitaa way to go...Concise and to the point...I sometimes ramble on aimlessly....oh shiny thing whats that????? heh
I am notorous for buffing people for free on my server(chilastra) And I love the shocked replies I get when I tell them its on the house...lol
Now I dont sit in cnet and buff for free...but when I am out hunting on Dant and I get a /tell asking if I am buffing...I will usually respond sure if you come to me, I'll do it for free. Wow that gets peoples attention fast.
I usually hang around Novaent because it is a Med city and gives me a good boost to my buffs...good enough that I dont have to worry about taking Biv(2407 with no biv, 2650ish with biv)for 3 hours 55 mins...cant complain about a free buff with those stats. These are my econo buffs also...but that is all that is needed for jantas and force crystal hunters. I save my 3000+ buffs for really hard stuff.
Sometimes people get lucky and catch me when I am buffing myself, then they get the Biv buff and woot they love it. I'll even go as far as to use halva sometimes if a few people ask at the same time. In the time it takes me to max my unarmed melee...I have either maxed my medical...or come close. Then I go to the village and convert. Money has since ceased to be a concern to me...making 1 mill in a buff session from rewards...not counting all the force crystals I find, makes giving away 10 sets of buffs a day moot.
The fact that you make money from buffing people should not have any impact on anyone elses gameplay style. If people are buffing for free near you and you are not getting any business...go somewhere else...or wait there for people to get tired of waiting in the free line. No doubt they will.
One more thing.
Something I have noticed when I used to buff in public(I have since joined the money making machine on Dant...it is so much faster)
Use decient buffs. In the last few days I see more and more people shouting"Master Doc buffs...1800 all stats 2.5 hours 10k"
Now while 1800 is probally fine for simple hunts and new players...How many new players are going to cnet right off the bat???
And as a master doc I personally would be imbarassed at saying my buffs were 1800. Before I hit master (0/2/4/0) I was buffing people for 2150+.
Most players will want that extra 500-600 and the extra hour is really importiant. I fully admit I suck at making buffpacks... So I buy them. Using decient buff packs will draw people to you even if others are giving lower ql ones away. Not having to get rebuffed for an hour means up to 500k-1 mill to some people in mission rewards and 200-500k in exp.

I am a master doc on ahazi server, I do buff for free and will continue to do so. I dont feel right charging people for me to make xp's off them bout 8k a buff set. If thats the attitude we are going to take then hence forth all tumblers need to pay us for the priveledge of earning xp's off them. Thats why i dont charge for buffs till my med xp's cap, then its 12k line forms at the rear, and I tell people that up front that the first roughly 10 buffs are free after that everyone pays. Till i cash in my xp's. I make my own buff packs round 917-928 3 hrs, so they arent bad buffs, but i cant honestly charge poepl for them while i make xp's, its not fair. Im sorry that this has cramped your budget or to those docs on ahazi that are angry that threre are free buffers out there, but I dont belive i should charge anything if im making xp's off a player, thats been my rule since day 1.

hi guys
well what can i say
buffing for free is so good for the soul
i was give a small loan by a guild mate to allow me to be able to buff for free for the xp for 3 lines in the med tree. i tend only to buff for free if im in the village and to guildies but allways accept tips
if the village is crowded with docs i simply travel 1k from village to nice quiet spot drop a camp and proceed to buff my pet, this does give a little less xp per buff , usually meaning i need to buff him 12 time instead of 11 but so what im not in anyones way , im not causing lag ectt... and im not ruining the med economy either
just a thought to those out there that are buffing for free and in the village ever thought about multiple buffing. very simple method to rinse as much xp out of 1 player as you can. it is very rare to get docs with the same power buffs in one location so yuo can use it and the fact that you can over buff if your buffs more powerful
this has been done with 4 docs all buffing the same player over an 8 sec period and all get max xp
simple make sure that you all buffing in same order and with same delay between buffs, then line up in order of power ie lowest to highest and add a line to your macro that say something to let the doc next to you to start. if you all buff in turn with say a 2 sec delay between you the player being buffed actually only has to wait an extra 6-8 secs for last doc to finish his last buff
if you worried that 1 doc getting all the tips then ask the players to tip you all the same amount each in your buffing for free but accepting tips spam
as a rule when i buff in the village i allways say free buffs tip if you like , and as a whole i would say 75% of people will tip you 10k or the norm for your server and 5-10% will tip more than normal for such good service
i very rarely lose out that much for my buffing for free
well thats all i have to say it probably has no relevance to the tread but hey
my soul feels so clean with the free buffs i been giving and dont forget all the free heals you can get in when passing through starports

while its a nice idea to buff for free. it is not free to buy the supplies needed to make the buffpacks. the prices of avian meat, herbivore meat, even the harvester obtainable resources like lok wild wheat, tatooinian fibreplast, talusian water vapor, domesticated oats etc etc etc are highly inflated due to the greed of the suppliers of said resources.
everyone is out to make their fortune off the doctor, the chef, the armorsmith, the weaponsmith by supplying them with their resource needs at as big a profit as possible. what this translates to is that the price of products will continue to go up, what you pay for now for weapons, armor, chef foods, doctor buffs, stim b's or d's will not be this price in the future.
it all starts at the resource level, those prices dictate what the final products will be. remember that when you go out spending your hard earned credits and then whining that the price is too high for your tastes.
when a doctor has to resort to offering a ridiculous amount of credits per unit just to get some meat or other resource, it results in higher inflation of finished products.
sad but true.

I don't buff for free. I've been around free buffers and it's never effected my trade. Why? Because the free buffer gets long lines. I normaly use high end buffs and cater to a certain type of player who isn't gonna wait on line for over 30 mins for a free buff. I also the free buffers overflow and sooner or later he's capped and they jump to my line when he runs off anyway. Also, my line is never empty. I can only buff 1 at a time so as long I have at least 1 person on line, I'm happy.

If the Doc pays for the buffs, and decides not to charge, its at his loss really. Its every persons decisions how he wants to buff and how much he wants to charge. Simple as that. Dont try and force people to do something, it wont work. Its true that its much easier to just buff for free in village, so you dont have to travel far and wait for shuttles. In the time you do that, you could have done another 11 buffs and capped out. Some docs like me, arent rich yet, so i cant sit in village and buff for free. Big deal. My business still hasnt been hurt anyway, i still buff for 12k at coronet/theed/dant mining outpost with very little downtime.

I've been a doc since september/october, can't remember really. hehe. I used to charge for buffs and have always made my own. On Christmas day I logged on before catching a flight out of town and gave away buffs for free and enjoyed it and the response from people so much I haven't charged since. I'm not rich by any means, last check at the bank said 150k creds, but I still have no need to charge for buffs. I find most people end up tipping you anyway just for being nice. My guild even set up a free buff event at the starport in Theed one weekend and had people repeatedly telling everyone it was free and we still ended up being tipped a total of 500k. If you wish to charge for buffs, go ahead, but don't knock others just because they want to be nice to the people they share their server with.

WHY ARE YOU TYPING IN SUCH LARGE FONTS!!!! really though its kinda annoying.. anyways i dont buff for FS xp and yet... i buff for free. To bad to all the docs who buff for money but if docs can afford to buff for free for FS xp, there is no reason they shouldn't. You must realise they are buffing for free in order to get the customers who would normally come to you! why would they then not buff for free and give you back those customers? It seems like it would be the same thing for me to say "HEY! dont bid on this item cause the rest of you are willing to pay to much and then i wont be able to afford it!"

If you want FS xp, use your crafting abilities and make some stim 3's.
Get a tumbler going (pet tumbler) in a hut at the village and watch yourself cap 80k of med xp in llike 5-10 minutes. Conversions is 10 -1 and is by far better than buffing ppl for free.
You need a set of entertainer buffs, (stat migration to mind if wanted), food if you need it, and advised a set of Be'd clothing for better heals.
