If I were do it again I would do it the same way. I would not use a macro for my crafting xp (or tumblers for med xp) I wish other people would not either, but would not specifically ask/tell someone they should not.
I do wish that they would reconcile medical experience gain with crafting experience gain. If you craft all your own stuff, during medic, it's very nearly matched (you reach level 4 in the 3 medical lines at about the same time you reach level 4 in organic chemistry. Once you hit doctor (or combat medic), things get a bit screwy as You get a ton of healing power (and thus experience) out of a single stim E (or area stim) without much increase in crafting experience.

i paid a tumbler, and i used a macro on just one tool. did it while i slept and even had it set up to fix a fail. did it over night while i slept and put enough resources in invintory to cover a box a night. if you use one tool and a macro, it will run without any problems. but that was a lonnnnngggg time ago... been a doc for awhile... no idea if it will still work....

How do you make the macro insert the resources? I though that couldn't be done.

I think you have to use an external program that records your mouse-clicks, which is a violation of the EULA if SOE find out about it.
