But the one set of stats (mind) can be healed with meditate but not by any wound pack, makes it very tempting to get.

Personally, I went with MHS for the damage and power hammer. I mainly PvE and there's a certain satisfaction going toe-to-toe with an NS elder, krayt or giant dune kimos.

Regarding M. Combat Medic/ M Doc

There are enough skill points to do that and have marksman 3/3/0/4 with 0 sp left. I did this for a while. . .it got boring b/c you were only effective in mass PvP battles as a combat medic to throw poison/disease. Once the melee folks came a charging, you got your rear-end handed to you and took a free clone ride.

Regarding M Doc/M Fencer

I'm working on this now. It is a lot of fun being in the thick of combat having not been able to do this with the above template, however there are 2 caveats I would like to mention: 1. The xp is a slow start when going up the brawler one-handed tree, 2. Since you have no range, killing those Avains is a pain if you can't finish them off fast enough before they fly away. Nothing worse than having to chase a Reptilian Flier around Dathomir--they almost always fly into an Ancient Rancor's lair and since the combat que doesn't end till you kill the bugger, you can't harvest the other dead ones around you till you finish the job.

Over all, i'm having a good time with this, but don't expect to make too much money as a Doctor. Unless you are really good at acquiring top quality resources and know a good chef that uses bio-engineered additives for Bivoli, selling buffs at the Coronet Starport is just plain boring and doesn't appear to be much of a money maker.

I think the money's there. I buy my packs for about 4300 credits per full set and had no problem selling them for 10k or 12k. I hit for 2200 or so w/o Bivoli, 2400ish with, and get no complaints on the rare occasionas I buff anyone but a guildie.

The reason most people don't public buff doesn't have as much to do with the money as with the hassle and the level of the clientele

I make money off my three vendors and my hunting and save my buffs for my BH alt and my guildmates.

Ive been a Dr with my alt for quite a while....ive taken all the melee class, and all of them worked great, i started with pikeman, then went to fencer (least fav with dr.) then to TKA (good mixture) and now im Hvy Sword, which is awesome. So im gonna stick with that for a while.

Im a master doc and master teras kasi. Couldn't be happier with it. I went out today to a base on rori and took on about 15 npcs at the same time. its nearly impossible to die. It has its disadvantages of course, such as having to chase after all ur targets, and you don't get any defense against ranged except what the ole armor absorbs. Anyway, this is really one of the best for pvp and soloing. its really probably one of the best combos ever for a group though.

I'm loving Doc/2hSword combo... although as mentioned it makes me a bit of an embarassment at PvP! For PvE, though, it really rocks. One thing I'd say is that if you're going to be healing instead of just buffing, a melee profession might make sense as Docs have to get close to the people they're healing (unlike CMs) - which means you're going to be in harm's way yourself.

HS with Doc is the bet pve combo out there imo, but it is not good for pvp, I do ok in casual duels, but I don't do that often so I am happy. I used to be Master Fencer with Doc, that was fun too, but not so good in a pve situation, so not for me.

Well, I just got poles 4 today(haven't worked on any combat much yet) Yes, the mind wound healing I would get from TKM is very tempting, but right now that's the main thing I regreat if I don't go TKM with master doc. I think I may just try master pikeman for now though, just to be different who knows, maybe I'll get all tactical in any pvp'ing or duels I get into and show how uber pikeman can be.. well, hopefully.. lol

thanks for the advice.

I enjoy playing Master Doctor/Master Heavy Swordsman. It allows me to have 18 skill points left over, so I can alternate between Novice Scout when I want to go collect meat and Novice Artisan when I want to go survey.

I was a master doc/almost master rifleman before I dropped doc, and I found that it worked well with my playing style.

I PVE more than I PVP, but I do go on raids and defend the odd base or two, and the rifleman holds his own, especially with the doc mixed in.

If you're doing it just to make money, don't get another account. Just drop a few boxes of one of your combat profs and add novice scout and the hunting line from scouting. Get a case of veghash (increases creature harvest) and take your character hunting.

You'll go through any creature like wet paper wtih that template, and you'll make more money selling the meat/hide than you will buffing, when you figure out the cost. Less stress too.

Not to say you shouldn't get a doc character if you want, just telling you a way to make money without spending the extra $50 for the game and $15/month.

Either way, you'll have fun. I don't regret the money for my alt at all.
