LOL... I almost hope it'll just say "You have been tipped X credits", purely for the comedy value for a fix they've been considering and implementing over a timescale of months.

I think SOE have done a damn fine job on SWG have the highest praise for them all.

But.........

To have taken this long to address this problem, especially when it can't have been the hardest problem to code out, is bad (I'm 36 not 16 do bad means bad in this instance).

This problem should have been fixed negative 50 days ago.

I'm glad they are finally fixing it, but I am not impressed with their speed, especially when other professions and some miniscule details of the game seem to have higher priority over scamming problems such as this.

Of course I am glad the fix is comeing, however, of all the things devs could do with their time I would not have put this at the top of my list. I would rather they spend time on the SE and making it as good as it can be.

Bank scams have stolen far more from the scammers honor than they would ever steel from me.

In fact, scammers have added to my fun of the game. Their stupidity has made me laugh so many times. As for the loss of the cash, ahhh so what. It is juch a bunch of game cr. I can make more in no time.

There i small side of me that has loved the bank scam. It gives a person the chance of showing their honor or lack there of. It has been nice making a list of those without honor and letting them know what kind of person they are. It has been a great test and I have learned a lot from it. In some small way I will miss it.

The trueth is that even with this window of scam open the vast majority of people in this game would not even think of ripping people off. They are simply too nice. To me, that's what makes this game worth playing.

And I'd like to add myTHANKS to the Devs. While I agree that it should have been fixed a while ago, I don't think it's reasonable to assume that making amajorinfrastructure change to the bank tipping system is "easy". They're changing all emails so instead of coming from aplayer they're coming from a central bank sorta like the auctioner. That's a significant difference from just making everybody's name in all caps.

I'm just happy its being fixed.

As for its priority, remember this is a bug that CAN BE WORKED AROUND by not accepting bank tips or by checking your balance. So I'd say its natural for them to assign it a lower prority than other bugs that CAN'T be worked around. Not that I'm apologising for SOE, but it could explain why they haven't been bothered to get this one fixed right away. Go find a Jedi, Pikeman or carbineer and tell them this bank tip thing is really important and you better have your fireproof trunks on. The fact is this expoit mainly affects us Doc and we are not the most populous profession in the game.

You may be suprised tohear this echoblue, but most of the people who play SWG probably don't read these forums. I have several friends who don't look at them and all of them had never heard of this scam. One friend who was a doctor and dropped it yesterday, said to me he hadn't heard of the bank tip scam when I told him it was being fixed at last. I just assumed he would have known about it.

Well that goes with what I'm saying. Its an exploit that is abused by a small amount of people and an exploit that doesn't stop anyone doing anything and can be worked around with little effort. Its no wonder it was low down on the devs list of things to do.

How does it go with what you're saying? My friend hadn't heard of it and never kept an eye on his balance whilst being tipped to buff. Now he's wondering if he's been ripped off and if so how many times.

I thought it was obvious: The ONLY point I made was that this may have taken so long to fix because it didn't affect many people and could be worked around. I don't see how your friend not knowing about the bug mkes any difference. I don't know how you got the impression I would be surprised to learn that not everyone reads the doctors forums but I can't see how that bears on the point I made either.

My friend not knowing about the exploit means he was open to being ripped off and most likely was a few times. If they had fixed this ages ago with Bank being the sender then even in ignorance he'd never have been ripped off.

You can only work around a problem if you know it exists. Stopping cheating of any kind, no matter how small in your opinion, should be a major goal of SOE.
